Tucked away and quiet - great place for a beer. A lot of history and nice setting overlooking the lagoon.

We stayed at the Aro'a Beachside Inn so had nightly access to this amazing little beachside bar. The atmosphere is wonderful with friendly staff and great food. In keeping with the Shipwreck theme, drinks are served in jars. As it is not actually a restaurant...More

Kia Orana, Thank you for your awesome review of our little beach bar. Very happy that you loved spending time with us and that you got to see a legendary green flash. I thought they were a myth, but no, they do exist. Very happy...More

We enjoyed cocktails by the beach watching the sun go down at this great little Bar. If you wish to have dinner it is advisable to book as this bar/restaurant is compact.

A group of 15 visited on a recent Saturday night BBQ and had a terrific time. Couldn't fault the atmosphere, the food, the views, or the value for money. Service was excellent and friendly. If going for dinner I suggest you make a booking and...More

Went there on live music night on Tuesday. Music was great but all patrons seemed to be ex-pats who were very "matey" with each other but quite snobby for us as tourists. One of hosts almost pounced on those tourists who had finished their drink...More

Kia Orana, Thank you for your review, glad that you enjoyed the music and the atmosphere. So let me get this right. You enjoyed the atmosphere and music but then you criticise us for: 1. Having attentive staff. 2. Having people (patrons) in the bar...More

The meals are well priced and tasty. Perfectly suited to the entertainment nights but also good if you want a quiet night in after a hard afternoon's snorkelling.

We scootered around the island and dropped by for a quick bite to eat and try a few cocktails....I can recommend the guava colada. You can relax in the hammock, recline in the garden or just spread out in the bar. It was lovely.

Description
The Shipwreck Hut is an authentic beach bar situated right on the sand at the Aro'a Beachside Inn. Perfectly positioned to enjoy sunsets that are the envy of the South Pacific while sipping one of the famous "jam-jar cocktails". We also offer cold beer, wine, spirits, soft drinks and "home cooked" bar meals. We serve our bar meals from 5:00pm until 8:00pm (but not on BBQ nights). Saturday - Beach BBQ 6:00pm with live music. Tuesday - Live music 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday - Live music "Sunset Cocktails" 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Exactly what you would expect from a fun loving beach bar in the South Pacific.
