Quality and taste of food not maintained as before they given. Whether demand in high label of this restaurant but they should look after about food which they have serving.

Noting special and very ordinary food. Except Ilish maach shorshe all other dishes were below average. No value for money and the biggest issue is mismanagement.
Authentic Bengali Food with a pocket friendly menu card. Must try. Must try their shorshe posto ilish and mutton.
Extremely over hyped and under quality food. The staff is unaware of what should be eaten first and have a non polite attitude
Horrible experience at this place. We went after watching you tube videos and good reviews, but the management and service quality was poor. We were five of us and our 6 month old baby. There was a long queue and we requested them to accommodate...our group in two parts - three together and me and my wife in the second part as the baby was crying. Even after multiple requests, they forced all of us to have the food together. Since the place was stuffy, our child started crying and me and my wife had to leave the food in between to take care of the kid. Food quality was sub standard. Shukto was served after dal and bhaja. Ghee was served after shukto. Bhetki paturi and mutton were not of good quality. Dhokar dalna was very spicy and without salt. Definitely not value for money. We felt that this place is over hyped.More
Extremely unprofessional, completely mismanaged. Basic amenities missing. Avoid if travelling with children. Unhygienic.
Please dont visit. Rude behaviour. Unhygienic atmosphere. It's only a hype. If you are with Senior Citizen, avoid this place. If you ask some item after pre-paying, they will say that the item is not in your menu or you are asking extra which you...have not paid. Such rudeness! They don't know the process to serve. Sukto, then ghee, Dal, posto bora, pabda fish then katla fish... .More
Good place to have lunch with family! Food taste is good! Quantity is sufficient! Tasted Hilsa and mutton! Both are fantastic! Only thing it need pre booking else need to stand in long waiting! Else this is a great place to have lunch with family...if you are visiting Santiniketan! CheersMore
This is a shady, shaby, unclean ,unprofessional useless place with an intention of looting people. ***BEWARE OF THIS BAD RESTAURANT*** Very unprofessional and rude staff, absolutely horrible service. If you are a Bengali from Koljata,di not waste your money here,I stand visit the amazing bengal restaurants we have...in Kolkata. Avoid this place.More
When you visit Santiniketan for staycation celebrating your anniversary and you want to have authentic bengali lunch, please do not visit this place. They will serve poor food, behave badly and unclean shaby atmosphere might give you covid during these dangerous times as they have zero hygiene maintained....Even after reading this you want to go there,it's your choice but do reserve before going, because you will never get a seat and food without booking. When you will call for reservation, you will have to say what exactly...mark my words " EXACTLY " you will eat.On the spot, you will have nothing more but yes less and different. I have attached the bill to demonstrate what we ordered and paid for.But we did not get 2 plates of Ilish Bhapa, but one plate of Ilish jhol and were forced to eat and pay for that as they mistakenly cooked that.Imagine,Bill was paid for Bhapa but you will have to eat Jhol,if you refuse, you will find some ill mannered staff, with no sign of the owner or manager, shouting at you,and taking away food from your table. It's disgusting, pathetic and a nightmare. If this restaurant thinks that it can do anything with us guests, then they are wrong. Always remember "আইতে শাল যাইতে শাল,তার নাম বরিশাল।" Even after reading this ,you go there,my good wishes are with you and make up your mind for a worst day of your vacation.More
We heard a lot about this place and we expected good food, but what we found is a really shabby place with just average bengali food with above average price. The worst part is the service. Before you go the table you have to pay...first like any office canteens or cafeterias. If you want to order anything after that, you will have to go to the cash counter again to pay while you are still eating. The funniest part is that even after that, they serve wrong dishes and insist one should pay for the dishes which are not even ordered. Totally mismanaged place. We didn't find anyone, neither the owner nor any manager who can manage those kind of situations. The restaurant is managed by a bunch of unwilling, unprofessional, ill-mannered, illogical and non-cooperative staffs. Total waste of time. No question of coming back to this place. Not at all recommended.More
Authentic Bengali Cuisine !!!!! Bengali food is one cuisine which would suit any taste bud. Its light on stomach & heavy on flavours, which will make you crave for it again & again. The list of delicacies in Bengali cuisine are across boundaries. On our...recent trip to Shantiniketan , we planned to pay a visit to "Borishaler Ranna Ghar" on 31 Dec 2021 for lunch, which is quite famous for its Bengali food. It was approximately 15 kms from Goalpara where we were staying put. The visit was definitely worth it & we thoroughly enjoyed our food here. Heres what we ordered :- 1. Veg Thali : Comprised of Plain Rice, Ghee, Dal, Shukhto (made of veggies including Bitter Gourd, Raw Banana, Pumpkin, Potatoe, Masala Vadi), Dhokar Dalna (made of potatoes & cubes made of Chana Dal), Tomato Chutney, Aalo Bhaja (thin strips of Potatoe deep fried). Each dish was a treat in itself. The thali was sumptuous & Shukhto & Dhokar Dalna was full of flavours. Food was very light on stomach, but no compromise on taste there. 2. Mutton Kasha : A preparation of Mutton which is dry in texture. The dish was extremely flavouful. The mutton was very tender & cooked perfectly. Delicious indeed. 3. Bhetki Paturi : A variety of fish named "Bhetki" fillets prepared with mustard & other condiments & wrapped in Banana Leaf, which is then steamed. Unique flavours & tasty enough. The Ambience too was nice & dinky. The owners have made an endeavour to give the restaurant a village touch, with the dining hall replicating a mud house with rural paintings on the wall & thatched roof on the ceiling. It was pretty pleasant. A special mention of the service. Only ladies serve here. We were being served by a lady named "Tulsi" who was so congenial & warm. She made sure that our bellies are filled to the brim. Excellent hospitality. Loved the service here. They have displayed few local artefacts & other items on sale just outside the dining hall, which the ladies would love to shop on. There's a Sweets counter as well, which sells Bengali Sweets. Since, our stomachs were already spilling, we were not in a position to try the sweets. Overall a memorable experience. Since we went on 31st Dec, it was slightly crowded & hence, there was a waiting period. Do visit here. Its strongly recommended. Hope the review helps. RegardsMore
Apart from the dhokar dalna, the rest of the items were extremely below average. The dal, alubhaja was ok. The patisapta was again just ok. The gokul pithe was nothing but a sugar stuffed fried I don’t know what…. If that was gokul pithe, then...im mike tyson. The most hyped item was mutton kasha. Im sorry to say, it was toi much spicy and being too much spicy, the taste was not at all felt. The mutton pieces were also not that tender. I agree, opinions do vary, but for me, the hype was just a hype. Thanks to you tubeMore
I have a relationship with bolepur for over 20 years. Since I happen to have a house there we are very well related to Barishal as well as Banalaksbmi. We have had the privilege of knowing NiranjanDa the founder. Barishal practically grew up in front...of us. Bring vegetarians we are always offered the same menu.this time when we had our meal we found the Doras were taken out of the fridge while the gravy was hot. This is is great fall in the quality in our 20 years of experience. I ghought that this is to be brought to the notice of Baudi . We are really depressed. We did not have the intention to immediately complain. However we would not like to see this organization fail in long run.More
It is far far better than Banalakshmi . Price is reasonable and food taste and quality is good. But only problem is it far from core Bolour
