There are very limited accommodations available enroute Sandakphu or beyond. One good option is Hotel Sunrise at Sandakphu but its contact no is not working. Since this place is the border of India and Nepal, so people have both India and Nepal nos. Another good...option is Hotel Sherpa Chalet in Sandakphu run by Mr Pemba (M; 8918466713/ WP-85092 52318). Since, this hotel having few rooms which were all sold out, we tired our luck to a place 1.2 Km beyond Sandakphu known as “Ahal” on the way to Phalut. Ahal is a view point for viewing the Sleeping Buddha and also for sun set viewing. The homestay at Ahal is known as Ahal View point homestay the only homestay available in Ahal having only few rooms and one dormitory. The owner of this homestay is Mr Gaytcho (M: +977- 986 2676439). It’s a Nepal no but can be contacted on WhatsApp. There are other options for accommodation which is of GTA’s Trekker’s Hut. GTA’s trekker’s Hut is available at Manebhanjan, Tumling, Tonglu, Kalipokhri, Gairibas, Sandakphu and Phalut.More

I had the opportunity to have lunch in this beautiful scenic resort while travelling. The place is really well maintained with great decor and ambience. The service by the resturant people is also great and helpful. The way they serve lunch is also great with...ghee and in kasar thala...But if the taste of the food is bad then all these great things dont matter..More

So my brother and I were driving back home from Tarapith and needed to grab lunch. On the way we noticed this beautiful little resort right next to the high way in a lush green patch. Vibrant in newly painted white, Kharimati is well maintained...and offers a memorable lunch experience. You get a lovely Bengali thali at a very very good price and can best enjoy it in their outdoor seating area with lovely yellow wooden chairs and green marble tables. You are surrounded by bougainvilleas and have a little bar adjacent to the place to give you that chilled beer you were craving for 😀 I am definitely staying here next!More

Kharimati serves good quality food consistently. Their 'thalis' consist of rice,dal,alu/begun bhaja, ghee, alu posto, chutney. If you have 'Chicken or Mutton Thali' they will add the relevant type of meat. Food quality is good and seems to have been in uniform

We went to Kharimati restaurant for two times. We had a very tasty and spicy dinner and, evaluating the offer of Bolpurthe, the day after we came back for breakfast. Also the egg toast contained chilli peppers 😅 However, the place was nice and the...price was honest.More

I visited this place 1 week back and had my lunch. The food is worse than I imagined. The price is really high compared to the quality of the food. I totally recommend not to eat at this place.

The place is definitely one of the good properties around. They serve quality food at pocket price. The area is clean too and very well maintained. The greenery around is the best which you miss in the city. The backdraw is the staff and their service....It takes ages for them to place the menu card on the table and even longer if something is requested. You have to call out to them innumerable times and then they would attend you! May be they are more attentive to native people which is why our table was missed by them. But one should know that if the customer service is this poor then people will never come back here even if you have quality food at your restaurant!More

Lovely new rooms, spacious, a rarity in Bolpur. Large lawns, area for children to run around. Food is best in the class, the Bengali thali in lunch and all kinds of snacks and Chinese/ Indian dishes from evening onwards and a basic bar. Very helpful...staff.More

Restaurant quality is good. Waiters are super busy, takes a lot of time to get your order. Ample passive smoking for free for all the visitors. Open seating available under tree shades (full of smokes). Also AC seating is there (only toilets are full of...smoke). Waiters are reluctant to take any other order apart from THALIs, for everything else they will give excuse of delay.More

During our recent visit to Shantiniketan, we went there for lunch. It has been positioned as a part of nature. The capacity in the AC enclosure was limited. Thalis were recommended by the restaurant where the food is served in Kanshar Thala Bati (Metallic plates...and bowls traditionally used in Bengali households earlier). The number of items were too many and the portion sizes were too large and difficult to finish for most of us. As per the tradition, ghee is served at the beginning. It ends in style with paan (betel leaf served with condiments). However the quality of cooking is average, at best. It stood up to its name by taking us down the nostalgic road reminding us the forms in which Bengalis’ used to lunch in good old days but stopped short of satiating in terms of quality of cooking, resulting in the average rating. You may appreciate it better if you do not have heightened expectations created through so many good reviews, to start with.More

The basic problem is with the services. We booked our stay for 3 days but had to cut short to make to a different accommodation. The toiletaries were not provided in the rooms. Were only provided after repeated request. The other problem is the restaurant....It is away from the rooms and on rainy days, with elderly parents, it becomes a challange. We could have ordered a room service though, but we found that the table space for having food inside rooms was not adequate. Further, we also found that room service plates are not removed even after long time. Overall experience at Kharimati was not satisfactory.More

Lunch needs to be told ahead but its definitely worth the money. Very homely and very Bengali.Thali's are recommended. It will have enough rice, sabzi , daal, papad chatni and 2 pieces of fish. Because the restaurant serves drinks at night, food differs vastly. Its...all about Mughlai, chinese etc. Kababs are made fresh and good. Breakfast is also very tasty. Luch torkari is made fresh and served hot. Or you may opt for eggs, toast etc.More
