The Phantom Ranch is an oasis of food, new friends, bonding with nature and relaxing. It is hard to describe the feeling down there. When hiking, it is a surreal scene to happen onto-coming in all sweaty in 100 degree weather to the dining area...More

After hiking down we were dirty very tired and hungry. The hikers stew and salad that we had was really good. It was nice to sit with other hikers and compare stories. The big breakfast we had in the morning was everything you could want.

I think that's right . . . except I remember there being special times when you could use the credit card. The establishment seemed to prefer cash.
