The only way to the dinner table is a walk down to the Canyon bottom or a mule ride. I walked, had dinner with 50 new friends and three old ones. The feeling of comraderie and profound pride in your dinner cohorts was inspiring. The...More

after an amazing hike to the bottom of the canyon Phantom Ranch provides a fun, casual place to eat great food (its the same meal each night and morning), discuss the beauty of the Grand Canyon and plan you next hike. If you've been meaning...More

Phantom Ranch, at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, reached only on foot or by mule, offers guests two dinner seatings, each with a different "menus," both served "family style." For us, plates of enormous steaks, huge baked potatoes, giant bowls of salad, cornbread, chocolate...More

Food was ok, service is excellent. It is a welcome place for hikers. Can even grab a beer or a glass of wine from a box. All hauled down by mule. Makes it special even though the food is very mediocre.

It is a pleasant sight to see Phantom Ranch while you're hiking. The opportunity to sit down and have a short break with snacks is nice. Knowing the mules hike in the supplies, it should be obvious that choices are limited. M&Ms, granola bars, and...More

Quaint place to stop and grab a refreshing lemonade. Keep in mind you pack out what you bring in. Good place to relax for a while. I did not stay here but camped near by (1/2 mile). I understand you can order a steak dinner....More

Breakfast is something that American accommodation providers don't do well Phantom Ranch does worse than most if it was a free breakfast it would get two stars maybe? But for an expensive breakfast it was abysmal. Stew dinner however was good not gourmet dinning but...More

What a treat to get to Phantom Ranch and be one of the few that stay there each year. Gorgeous views, cute original cabins from early 1900's, great food at the cantina, no cell service to be tempted, and day hikes with no traffic! NO,...More

The costs is more like $500 each, less if you book multiple people as then you share a cabin. I've done it three times now and loved it each time! I know people have booked these just a few months in advance but to ensure... More
