My family and I visited the Eastham Ferry Hotel on Monday 20th February for lunch. It wasn't particularly busy but after waiting over an hour for our meals, we were then told that one of the options wasn't available after all. When our meals did arrive, three of them were over-cooked. The bar staff were very good and did what... More

From what I read, this is a Marstons pub and I guess it is Marstons who paid for the recent refurbishment. Well, they've done a cracking job and it really is nice inside (we didn't see outside as it was going dark). Sadly, that's where it ends as the service was generally poor and the food was terrible. The staff... More

We dined on Saturday night that whole meal was disgraceful first of all I had a prawn cocktail there was no lemon and know that when I ask for Bread I got three rounds of stale bread and two slices of lemon off the bar than the main courses came but the starters had not even been cleared I was... Went there as part of a christening party with one tiny area booked out for around 60-80 people. Buffet food was what you would expect to get in the 80s. talking sandwiches, pork pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, ham and pineapple on a stick etc - no creativity or homemade cooking and not worth the price it cost the organiser.... Our walking group had a meal at this pub after a pleasant walk in the area. We had pre-arranged for us to use the toilets and pre-order our lunch arriving at about 10am. We were about 34 in number and we duly wrote down our names and our choice from the very extensive menu. Arriving back after the walk we... More

As part of a walking group we gave the restaurant a list of meals on a pre-arranged date, about 10 am for the 25 people walking that day. We returned about 1 pm as arranged to find the venue terribly understaffed and in consequence some in our party had to wait 1 hour for their food to arrive. Despite the... More

After a walk in the woods earlier we decided to stop here for a light lunch. When we first arrived, impressions were good.A friendly waiter took our drinks and food orders. We both ordered sandwiches-my fiancé's was a ham and piccalilli sandwich and soup of the day, and I ordered a beef brisket sandwich. The drinks arrived quickly, but that's where the positives end.... More

I've criticised this establishment probably more than I've praised it over the last couple of years. You may well question why after several bad experiences we keep going back.Gluttons for punishment maybe? We live in Eastham, and always try to support local businesses, especially one such as this fine old establishment. I'm delighted to say our recent visit was a... More

Arrived midday Thursday, in spite of ordering straight away and the fact that there were only a few people in we had to wait almost an hour for our meal. Good Gluten Free Menu from which I ordered sausage and mash, the sausages were well overcooked and the quantity for the price was very poor. The other three meals ordered... More

Had been here previously not for a while, we thought we'd give it a go for Sunday dinner. Booked a table for 3pm as we didn't know how busy it may be, we needn't have bothered as it was extremely quiet. Will try to keep this short, it took about half an hour from arrival for a drinks followed by... More
