The place is nice but it is rather expensive for what it is. Moreover you need to fight to get served your raclette without limit.

The food was very good (we had polenta with cheese, ham and potatoes) but this is mostly a review for Raymonde. At the end of a good day hike to Pic D'Artsinol we end up in Evolene after the last bus for Les Hauderes where...More
I stopped here with a group of hikers for lunch- and was lucky enough to be seated on the sunny terrace with a magnificent view of the mountains and ancient tile roofs. Prominently located at the entry to the restaurant is a hearth with raclette...More
The best of authenticity. Very good meat and raclette offer. Beside an excellent meat or cheese treat, here, you get a hint of what local life really may be. Tough mountain conditions forged unique people. Chez Raymond you get a hint of the local approach...More
Lovely woodfire smell when you walk in- busy staff so slightly dismissive-the shocker was the 11.- CHF bottle of water. More expensive than Verbier.

We have had good time there. Good food too. All of my friends are happy. But yes, the owner seems a bit serious, not very expressive in the gesture, almost "no smile" :) Other than that, I MUST appreciate her service anyway. She and her...More
The reputation does not need to be made. Thanks to TV advertising nobody who knows Evolène can ignore this place. However it remains authentic and Raymonde remains as friendly as it use to be. Go there for a wood oven raclette, go there for a...More
Food was akin to good home cooking rather than posh dining. I good salad followed by a huge rossti with a whole goats cheese and bacon as a main course which was just perfect after hard days climbing. Not enough room for a pudding! Colleague...More
Here's the deal. Raymonde is apparently a local celebrity. She's been on national TV and her raclette is supposed to be extraordinary. So we booked a table with high expectations. First, the one good thing. The raclette is actually pretty good. Although I doubt it's...More
