last night my partner and I ate at the Boot Inn at Calstock. We were shown to a lovely table by the window,so that we could watch the interesting people of Calstock passing by, for some time before it went dark. The service was good, polite and prompt. Their homemade pate, was a delight, as was the very fresh scallops, which... More

had a roast here last month and it quickly became one of my favourites locally, came here for mothers day and was shocked that we were forced to buy at least 2 courses from the menu "because it was mothers day" an extra £9 on top of a normal roast for the priviledge of having a bland bowl of soup... A great little pub in a beautiful location. Tucked away behind the river front, The Boot is a proper traditional front which, refreshingly, has escape Farrow & Ball, and retains a massive amount of personal character. Food is excellent, well cooked, beautifully presented and plenty of it. Very attentive staff. We cam for Sunday lunch. The place was packed and... More

Had a good roast Sunday lunch here with loads of very fresh vegetables.. The staff were very friendly and falling over each other to be helpful. Only complaint was the dining room looked rather shabby.

Party of 6 in for dinner. Soup and pate as starters were just gorgeous. Steaks were to die for as were the other dishes of fishcakes and beef burger, huge portions and full of flavour. Lovely chocolate cake to finish off our meal. Thank you Sean, Kim and Joe.

A party of 5 all had roasts, on Sunday. Very nicely presented, tasted better! Good service and a nice atmosphere in the pub. Wholesome quality grub.

Having had a bad experience with another local pub, that I will not name on this review, I decided to try out the Boot with a couple of friends. I cannot fault the service or the food. Well worth it. At the previous pub I had visited with my parents, one of the locals actually recommended this place. Roast potatoes... More

This was one of the best roast dinners we've had in this area, everything was very flavoursome, the meat was cooked to perfection, lovely gravy and great variety of vegetables, the staff were very friendly and the pub had a nice cosy atmosphere.

My & my partner are both food lovers & dare I say DAMN fine cooks too! Not only is the food totally fresh, but completely cooked to perfection, with an unusual, but exquisite veg selection! The pub itself, is a true traditional free house, which are few & far between nowerdays! The welcoming & friendly hosts are the proverbial icing... More

We really enjoyed our meal at the boot inn. We were greeted with a friendly welcome and experienced excellent service all night. They do a very cheap pint as well! I had fishcakes which were delicious and had a good size portion. My boyfriend had mussels which was reasonably priced, fresh fri the sea and also very tasty. It's a... More
