My wife and I booked a dinner reservation for RRR Kobe Beef Steak the same morning through TableCheck, it was very easy to reserve. We arrived a few minutes early and we were seated immediately. Very nicely decorated and a romantic ambiance, perfect for our date night. Our host and server were outstanding, very professional and took very good care of us. The best part of the night was the food - every dish in the seven course Kobe beef dish was fantastic, from presentation to temperature and flavor. This is the best steak and dinner experience we’ve had in a very long time and we plan to come back on our next trip to Tokyo!

It's my first time to write a review and it was ammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmazing!
Foods, the steaks were incredibly good even we were not ordering the most expensive one. Service was excellent, we got out privacy to talk to each other because some other fine dinning places will over-service you, but the waiter/sommelier will immediately notice that you needed him and served you. He was amazing, professional and smart.
Excellent service, interior design and atmosphere!
There are only few tables in the restaurant and it was only our table and one table which is far from us, so it was quite enough take to talk but not too quite to have a dead air with some beautiful background music.
I love the interior design there too, simple, morden but classy, elegant, and high-end.

Honest review by honest people, we are couple organising VIP event for a living, mainly around gastronomic discoveries. On holiday we remain hedonistic and curious by nature and so we'll discover and share here our personal experiences.
Rarely have we been so disappointed walking away from a venue. What in truth happened last night at the RRR ? Was that an off night ? Are the rest of the review of this place fueled by the holiday hype that have people put the 5 stars in, just because they ate better than home ?
What we were looking for : an above the average late night order restaurant close to Roppongi that could accommodate us around 22h30. Exactly what the place advertises, both here and on Google.
What we found : the Japanese definition of a tourist trap.
What went wrong : about everything, from ingredients to preparation, passing by furniture. Even the service was reprochable, a dishonor in this country.
Let's start the painful process of remembrance...
At first glance all is well, a very small place that gives a sensation of exclusivity, but soon we notice the total incoherence of it all : they scream their aim for the non asian patron in a very gross way. You will be brought cutlery immediately if you're not Asian looking.
Ordering : and starts the trouble... we are refused our orders saying that they just can't do that tonight. It was the discovery set or so. Fine, I start ordering by the menu and got refused again, at which point we ask what exactly we can order and basically went with that. When 90% of all that you propose is meat it's a bit of a shame.
Starters : I ended up with the Kobe Beef sushi, my wife with the tartare. And here we have a massive problem : this was not Kobe beef. Kobe beef is unmistakable, specially when you've been eating everyday since a week. Totally nerved white inside, melts in the mouth even raw. I just had a plain red slice of rosebeef splashed on a nut of plain rice, covered with sea urchin that was flamed. The mix of way too much sea urchin without anything to link with the meat was very unhappy in the mouth for both taste and texture. I think they were going for a surf and turf ? Better eat everything separate, which I ended up doing. My wife's tartar has been slightly cooked, very surprising but probably for the best. Totally blant, and probably not Kobe beef as well.
We are served the wine and we realize the waiter has no idea. Uneven and inelegant pouring, I missed about half of my glass. And then the "last order now for drinks and food" came. I was shocked and showed him the opening time until 4am, for no answer, just repetition of "Last order food and drink naow naow". Wow, this was just the starter and I can't order anything anymore in a suppose late night restaurant past 23h. We have a problem here.
Then we went for - what was available - and the prime Kobe cut. It came, and was not prime Kobe, was not Kobe at all and I doubt it was even Japanese cut. Tasted and looked like the cheap but very good and fat Italian beef. Absolutely not tender, I have problem chewing atm and I felt it straight away.
To spice it up we heard the chef having a very engaging coughing fit just meters away in the Kitchen just to see him bringing the bins out. There are regulation in some place against that.
We stood-up, walked to exit while asking for the check and were flabbergasted at the bill : around 30.000 Y / 270 EUR / 300 USD. Same price than one of the best Teppanyaki which we recommend : "Mon Cher TonTon". The price was all that could compare with a genuine Kobe beef experience.
The details : table totally uncomfortable. Room is very cold.
They go for "occidental fusion". They definitely want to fuse the ocidental wallets that are walking Tokyo's streets into their till.
There are not way this was just an off night, the concept itself is aimed for clueless tourists.
Do not absolutely go there, there are so, so, so many other choices at anytime of the day in this capital of the world.

When we made it to the restaurant, we were surprised to see the space was a lot smaller than we expected considering we had a party of six. That wasn't an issue as we were still comfortable at our table. The waiter was extremely pleasant and it really helped that he knew English and had English menus on hand. We all ordered the satisfaction course which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The main course had three different cuts of Kobe beef and each one melted in your mouth as you ate it. Definitely a prime experience for us.

Love this place! The server is polite and is able to communicate with us in English. The meal itself is one-of-a-kind, as expected for Kobe beef. We had the satisfaction course and it was excellent. I would go back again the next time I visit Japan.

Very small restaurant but they run it boutique style. Service was impeccable and food (from appetizers to steak to dessert) was out of this world. We stumbled across this restaurant by accident but were so happy to have experienced it in the few nights we had in Tokyo.

The restaurant is small but confortable. The food is amazing and the service is great. Gayan explained everything to me with great detail and the experience would not have been the same without him. Awesome for a not so expensive Tokyo Kobe experience.

We had a great time at RRR, everything was on level of perfection except the steak. We had tattinger champagne (really good price), and a taster menu. Kobe sushi was great, dessert was fabulous too , but when it came to steak- it was ok, I expected kobe to melt in my mouth (we recently tried some wagyu that did that), but it was chewy. lean good stake but no wow quality. Overall we had a good evening and enjoyed the experience, but kobe shoulder meat let us down a little.

Came here based on other reviews, were unable to reserve but thankfully had a place for us, very elegant, attentive service, good wine variety and great food. The best risoto and fois gras ever, and the meat is so tender and tasety.
Great dinning experience

We can not share the positive impression shared by previous guests, but our experience was rather disappointing/bad:
- Meat was well done instead of medium rare
- Vegetables were burnt
- Tap water ordered (very normal in the place) but bottled water served
- Amount of wine was very small (ordered by the glass)
- Level of English was very poor (this is absolutely no complaint, but seems like other guests made the opposite experience, so you might be lucky, or might not) - so we didn't get any introduction to the meat we ordered (sad, as prices are still $$$$)
- Choice was very limited (compared to homepage, no luxury course available)
Would not recommend for last dinner during an amazing vacation!

Amazing! Every course we had was exceptional. You get what you pay for, not cheap, but nothing short of exceptional. Perhaps the best steak I've ever had

We took a chance and headed up to the restaurant to see if they had availability on a Saturday night, and were fortunate to get an early sitting. We went for a set dinner menu, which was very good indeed. The service was first class and we'd certainly recommend it for those looking to splash out on some Kobe beef. For info, beyond the quoted prices, 13% was added to the bill for tax and service.

We had at RRR the best dinner in tokyo. If you want to skip the Michelin star restaurants this is a excellent choice. The beef is very tasty and the cooking even better. We seated at the private dinning room which is a nice experience. Recommended. Staff veeeery friendly
