After a long trip to different part of japan we are now in Osaka and straving for good food and found Alis kithchen. We reached their on 2nd Jan. they had once a year buffet waoooo.. 25 dishes each cost only 1.3 $ cheap.
My family enjoyed lot specially Biryani, Haleem, Nihari, Arabic kebab, chapli kebab, kofta and mix dall they all were best. Highly recomend. Owner and his team was extreemlly polite and helping

Don't get me wrong...I love Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki and would walk miles for good Karaage and an ice cold beer... but last night we didn't realize what a special treat we were in for. As a change of pace we stopped in at Michelin Guide rated Ali's Kitchen. From the moment we walked in we were treated like old friends. Ali, yes the one and only, was a true pleasure to spend time with. His welcoming conversation and his great sense of humor only hinted at what lie ahead. Guided through his menu loaded with delectable choices, he made recommendations on his house specialities and repeat guests favorites. Hints on levels of spiciness and special ingredients that make the dishes come alive with flavor, he lead us to a wonderful meal that offered a great selection of Pakistani delights. A definite must when you need an unmatchable meal hosted by an unforgettable host.

we went for lunch first then dinner same day after we found one halal Japanese restaurant out of business so we found Alis Kitchen.
Muslim Pakistani Canadian owner very helping talkative and humble person. in lunch we ate their signature Biryani and it was best biryani we ever had big portion and so tasty only in 1000 Yen with soft drink.
Dinner we order Mutton biryani its spicery they chicken but taste is better then chicken. other dishes we order Kabsa lamb for kiddz so tender lamb and rich taste of rice. we also order Nihari and chapli kebab.
Over all best place to visit highly recommend

I never saw any Pakistani or Arabic restaurants with Michelin award they are the frist and only restaurant Good Job Owner and chef Mr.Ali We went twice once for lunch ate curry Biryani set authentic food curry was Lamb and biryani was chicken spicy and like home made.
Dinner we ate Chapli kebab, Kabasa Lamb and Mutton Nihari high class food. Super friendly staff and owner clean love to come again.

Food was alright. The owner greeted us which was a nice touch. However, we ordered hummus and what turns out to taste like microwaved pita (we could tell by the uneven texture and staleness in some parts of it), then ordered a spicy lunch combo set which had really small mango lassi cup filled with ice cubes. The spicy lunch combo set was alright. My partner ordered palak paneer with paratha, paratha tasted like it was cooked from frozen food and palak was lukewarm. Not sure if reviews here are biased or paid, but unfortunately we did not have a pleasant experience.

We have a tradition that whenever we are away for more than a week, wherever we are in the world, we try and find an “Indian” restaurant. On our Japan trip, Ali’s was the chosen venue
As with many restaurants in Japan, it is a small venue that can hold about 20 people.
Ali is up front and central, moving around the tables talking to customers
Anyone from the UK expecting a typical UK curry is in for a surprise, but not a bad one. The menu at Ali’s benefits from Turkish and other Middle Eastern influences. As a result, the food has a lot less ‘heat’ than a UK equivalent, but benefits from the additional aromatic flavours of the region.
My partner and I chose to pick a few dishes and share. All were very tasty and enjoyable, with the signature Biriani definitely worth a try.

Well worth a visit for tasty halal food. We enjoyed the Biryani and Korma. The little restuarant is popular with locals and tourists and the owner Ali is warm and inviting. This place satisfied our taste-buds so much so that we visited 2 nights in a row and were not disappointed. Very reassuring that there’s no alcohol in sight. Try for yourself. The spicy and freshly prepared food was excellent.

I visited this restaurant accidentally in 2018 and was amazed with the Chicken Biryani, Nihari and the services provided by Mr. Ali (guess the owner). And ever since, have boasted about this to every foodie I met in Japan.
But really feel sorry when I visited Alis Kitchen last night (10 Aug’24). No Chicken Biryani, No Roti, No Parantha, Pathetic Chai. Services are even worse…toilet is in a bad shape. I could have still given it a benefit of doubt till I spoke to the cook (an arrogant man). I even requested him that I have come from Yokohama and love the chicken biryani but he bluntly said it’s all finished and later his response when I was trying to enquire about some good curry options was rather intimidating.
The restaurant’s last order was 9:30 but the staff came to us and asked at 9:15 that it is the last order. closing timing mentioned at the entrance is 10:30 pm, but they closed at everything at 9:50 pm.
This used to be one of my favourites and now one of the worst.

Dear Mr. Ankur G. Thank you for your visit after 6 years, I am Ali the owner I was in Hokkaido when you visit, I am sorry about your bad experience on 10 Aug. As you mention that you were amazed with our chicken biryani our mostly customers they have same review about it so its popular and No.1 in Japan that's why you arrived at 20:45 an hour 15 min before closing time we were sold out our chicken biryani.
We cooked Dam Biryani as an Indian brother you know that it will take over 2 hours to cook and we can't cook for one person it should be minimum 1 kg to 10 kg rice. I feel sorry about you to not have chance to eat our chicken biryani but your got Falafel, Tandoori chicken, Seikh kebab chicken, Mutton Nahari, Mutton biryani, vegetable biryani and I am glad you finished each and every dish.
About toilet as you saw we had almost all tourist and foreigners and most of them they don't know how to use Japanese toilet we are trying to clean in every 30 mins, so some time when you use toilet after some foreigners the shape is not good, if say staff they will do their best...
About staff behavior I check my camera my female staff she was to polite and friendly to you even you forced here to go and double check about biryani and rottti she answered you with smile and my chef he also replied you with respect but if you fell bad I apologize to you... People check Googel before they goes to any restaurant about timing I think you missed this time...
Once again sorry to not serve you Chicken biryani I can how much love chicken biryani, if you want to try again after 6 years please come bit early and specially on weekend and in national holidays.... Thank you for your visit....

I’ve been traveling Japan for 20 days and it has been a challenge at times to find vegetarian food, Ali’s kitchen was spectacular. I got the Dahl, Gaarlic Nan, and Samosa and i can confidently say that was the best Dahl i’ve ever had. Bonus points for ali (who speaks 7 languages) and made us feel right at home. 10/10 must stop in osaka.

I thought I could eat here for the rest of my trip in Osaka. Delighted to find a Halal restaurant nearby. Unfortunately this will be my first and last visit to this place. Ordered a takeaway Briyani Mutton (¥1800) for supper. And the rest is history…

While it's true that anywhere in Osaka is bound to have pests, you don't usually see them. Ali has the unfortunate luck of having a transparent ceiling light that showcases cockroaches in the throes of death, which really put me off my meal. I wasn't the only customer who saw it, but neither of us made a fuss because it's something the owner can't really do much about. Being in a semi-basement area can't help the situation. Perhaps consider changing the ceiling light to something different. Having seen it, though, I can't say I want to go back. The food was ok.

Dear Sir, I am sorry worry about your bed experience as you saw we had crystal lighting selling and the day you came same week we in our building there were some construction and as you saw that one dead cockroach in side selling we already complaint to Landor and were waiting for cleaning there is no cockroaches in our restaurant it was only in selling light that came from up floor. We always do best cleaning in our kitchen and restaurant that's why we have good reviews I am sorry again about your bed experience..

There's no food better than home food and Ali's kitchen serves it BETTER. Most authentic Pakistani food we have had and to have it in Japan of all places was a shocker! We are still dreaming of the wagyu beef and biryani because they were perfect in every way. Each bite was an explosion of flavors for a tourist hungry from the 30k walk Osaka requires for its exploring. This place is packed so make sure to make reservations ahead of time. ALI Bhai, the owner, is a delightful host and personally welcomes anyone coming through the doors of his restaurant. He will share stories of Japan and helps guide his customer to the best and untold gems in Japan. So, don't miss out on having a hearty conversation with the man himself. The food is priced reasonably and the quantity is fulfilling. Service is fast. The place is small, as is the norm in Japan, but it's in the heart of dotonburi.
You can find it right by the metro/train station. It is located in the basement and has a small prayer space too which is a bonus.
Things to try from their menu
1. Chicken biryani (OMG if you're a Karachi resident then you're instantly going to associate the shadi Wali biryani to this authentic tasting dish)
2. Waqyu beef - never tasted anything as succulent and seasoned so balanced
3. Malai chicken - well balanced, and very soft. Not dry like most chicken BBQ items are.
4. Nihari - excellent and pair it with the in house tandoori
5. Tandoori chicken - well spiced!
6. Daal - nothing better than a humble daal if the newness of Japanese cuisine has upset your stomach.
Overall, it was an experience beyond our expectations. The concern to find halal food in Japan is real and to have a restaurant that caters to those needs is the greatest blessing one can ask for.
