Prairie Star never fails as being one of the best restaurants in New Mexico. The ambiance is Southwestern with simplicity mingled with art; the location is on the edge of the beautiful gold course at the Hyatt. And the smell of pinion in the air can't be beat. We started out with drinks by the fire and watched the sunset... More

Although our bison steak and quinoa stuffed salmon were a little over done they were still delicious. The asparagus was perfect. The waiter (wish I could remember his name) was fabulous.

I've written reviews of the Prairie Star Restaurant before (see "The Best Restaurant in New Mexico") This is yet another rave review :>) We went to our favorite restaurant, The Prairie Star, for dinner on New Year's Eve to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. As usual, the dinner was wonderful. The Prairie Star is a great place to have a... More

Celebrated with their New Years eve fixed menu. All of the food was excellent. Service was very good with only one slip up. They mixed up the appetizer plates. This was not cheap at $69, but it was a five course menu. You could get matching wine with each course. We chose not to do that and got our wine... More

Thank you so much for spending New Year's Eve with us, and all the best for you in 2017! We are so pleased you enjoyed your meals, but is also important to the staff that our guests always feel welcome and comfortable at our restaurant. Our apologies for that that slip up. Sometimes they occur even with the best of... More

This place has great food and great views of the Sandias. It is a bit pricey but it is great for special occasions (ie: birthdays and anniversary).

My son and I came here for a holiday evening meal and ordered Garlic Gouda Stuffed Vermont Quail and Seared Sea Scallop with Parmesan Gnocchi in Brown Butter with a Port Poached Pear Puree. The food was tasty but my scallops seemed "heavy" with the pear puree sauce. A lighter butter glaze would have been better.

We decided to take my parents out for Thanksgiving rather than have them cook. We had heard raves about the Prairie Star so we got reservations and gave them a try. Unfortunately, it didn't match the praise we had heard. Although we had reservations, we had to wait thirty minutes for a table. So why make reservations? When we got... More

This was a first time here for us and our friends. We had heard the service was great and that was confirmed. We had a reservation on a Saturday night at 7:30p and finished by their closing time at 9p. Our fall weather had turned chilly so we were glad to be seated near the fire. The wine list has... More

The menu was too limited for me. Prices are very reasonable and my tenderloin was really tasty. It was a bit over cooked for me, but good none the less. Close to the Hyatt where we stayed.
