I don’t know which was more enjoyable; the food or the spectacular view of Ithaki! It’s very underrated yet one of the best meals I’ve eaten in the whole of Greece!! 10/10 and will definitely be coming back.

We were recommended by our apartment manager to visit. He stated that it is the best souvlaki in the world. I had my doubts of course but knew we had to try it with that reputation at hand. My god did it deliver. The food...was incredible, not the biggest of portions but the flavour was magnificent with every bite and it filled you up just enough to be at that happy point before being too full. The service was also brilliant and fit the bill as a small family run business, the views were outstanding and the location easy enough to get too. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Ithaki!More

A must visit during your stay in the island. The view is stunning, the grilled food and homemade appetizers are just right (the former truly cooked to perfection) and the locally-made wine a perfect way to get jolly! The people who run the place are...genuinely sweet and friendly. Crucially, the family-run business produces and sells home-made and delicious jams and sweets at bargain prices, mostly (if not exclusively) made with fruits from the island. A great souvenir to taste & take home (and an original and economic gift for a relative or a friend with a sweet tooth!).More

We know the restaurant since years and look allways foreward to their season opening. You get the best chicken souflaki, you ever have eaten in Greece! Yesterday we also ordered a Dakos salad (white, creamy cheese on top of a tomato paste, placed on top...of a crispy but also soft brown bread) and it was *njammi*, again the best we ever had in Greece! - Don't think I am writing beeing over the moon, - but if you ever have the chance to drive up to Perachori in summer, don't miss a dinner at their place!More

The short drive up from Vathi should not deter you from visiting this village and its terrific family run restaurant. Lovely food (almost too much) and good, friendly service. Lots of home made wines and confections for sale too.

The terrace offers great view to the Vathy and the island, on the windless days. Unfortunately the cement floor and the sitting is rather unattractive, so is the cooking of the self presented chef Panagiotis on the menu. Prices are high, considered the quality, service...is also slow, based on the family members.More

We headed into the hills and found this lovely little pace, where the service was very friendly. Both meals we had were delicious, but the waitress told me to try the feta baked with honey jam and cinnamon, and it was divine!

My Chicken Tserapa was divine, my family ordered souvlaki and it was tender and extremely tasty. Menu is limited as expected from a small place and probably not ideal for veggies. Prices were very reasonable and a bit lower than down in Vathy. Service was...friendly and efficient. Menu has English but rather limited wording! Tick marks show the choices available that day. View is amazing - you are facing the wrong way for the actual sun setting but the view over Vathy and the islands in the evening light is stunning. Take something warm to pull on if the wind is up. Roads in the village are small, steep and windy and easy to get disoriented. I would recommend getting up in daylight. 50 metres up the hill is the church with a bit of space for parking in front and if stuck the road that drops down to the right of the church (while facing the front) takes you to another space suitable for parking. In fact that is the good way to drive down as when you get round the bend it goes straight down (rely on your brakes) rather than winding. Finally, note the tripadvisor map location is a bit off. If you can find the church and tower on the aerial view and go east downhill no more than 50 metres. There is another restaurant on the road that heads slightly up from the same starting point.More

The restaurant is 10min drive up the mountain from Vathy. Go there before sunset, to see the magical view of Vathy from a distance as well as the nearby islands. The service is exceptional, attentive and polite. The food is honest, tasty, good quality Greek...food. Watch out: you are up the mountain, no fish here! Just tasty grilled meat. Overall, the food in Ithaki is nothing special, but Kalioras was by far my favourite restaurant in the island. We went there 3 times in 1 week. Highly recommended.More

We were told to visit this restaurant due to the stunning panoramic views and great food. the only thing this restaurant has to offer is the views I'm afraid. We arrived just before sunset to an empty restaurant and thought how perfect the location was...and how brilliant it would be to eat with the place to ourselves overlooking Southern Ithaki. When we arrived the waitress asked if we were just staying for a drink, so I guess we should have clocked on then. However we ordered grilled chicken and Sheftalia. Both mains took a long time to arrive and by that time we were both chomping at the bit for some food and another drink. The waitresses were very slow and seemed more interested in chatting to each other rather than the only two people in the restaurant trying to get their attention for another drink. The chicken was questionable and overcooked and the sheftalia was soggy and to be honest undercooked! Both served with a small portion of chips and salad. What a disappointment!More

Perched on the hill overlooking Vathy and much of Ithica this restaurant has an enviable location. It is a family run establishment and they are very welcoming and friendly. We had a fabulous family meal including toasted bread with Tzatziki, Greek salad and a roasted...meat dish for 4. It is simple Greek food done really well and all at what I think is a very good price. We paid €50 (ex tip) for a lovely family meal...we'll be back, and this time we won't forget our camera.More

Kalioras restaurant has one of the most beautiful locations we have seen in Ionian islands, on the top of the village of Perachori, overlooking the bay of Vathi - the view itself is worth coming. But that is not all, the food is delicious! We...definitely recommend feta chese in raspberry sauce and their souvlaki, that is softer and tastier then in most of other restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and the family running the place is so friendly, which made our experience just perfectMore

fair food, unreasonably high prices for medium size portions ( in a table that the bill comes total 115 euros for 5 people, it is unaccetable to charge 5 euros for extra bread).Nevertheless the stuff was nice and friendly and it had a great view...all over the Vathy bay.More

Very nice tavern with great meat and an amazing view overlooking the harbor of Vathy. We ate kontosouvli and lamb jops and they were both great. The burger was less tasty. Reasonable prices and a village atmosphere.
