I stayed a few days in this wonderful guesthouse. The guesthouse is simple and surrounded by organic fields that the hosts own. The rooms are clean. The food is home cooked by the host Pinky. It is absolutely amazing and delicious. It was probably the...best food I had during my entire trip in Rajasthan. Spent several hours talking to the hosts as well and their children. I highly recommend this home for a break from the busy streets of India. The hosts are incredibly attentive and caring. Their neighbour Sharu is an incredible guide and I highly recommend hiring him for the day as he will take you to all the places to see in the area. He was also very helpful for the planning of the rest of my trip. (+91 96804 15727)More

I spent a relaxing few days at DS Bungalow. My room was very quiet, comfortable and cool with nice character. There were small birds in the tree outside who only visit for two months of the year. There is also a farm where you are...free to walk around and relax. Bunti and Pinky are friendly and helpful hosts. Pinky is a great cook and meals are good value. I was collected from the bus stand and assisted to catch my onward bus to Jaipur. The bungalow is a little way out of town which is what makes it so restful. It is an easy walk or auto to the Haveli museums.More

I stayed four days at this lovely homestay around christmas. Being fed up with the big cities in Rajasthan, this was a perfect place to relax and to explore the countryside and the painted havelis in Nawalgarh and nearby villages. But the best of my...stay was the welcoming family and the great homemade food. From the start I felt at home. Bunty and his wife Pinky do really enjoy interacting with their guests. They're genuinely interested and like to share their own experiences and point of views. Every evening they made a little fire to sit by and chat. Tip: if you like hiking, do take the opportunity to visit the holy place Lohargal (situated in the picturesque hills of Aravalis) and leave from there for a one day or more day trekking in the lovely semi desterted landscape with remote shepherd villages. Bunty can provide you a guide. Enjoy! What a great homestay...More

Upon arrival at D.S Bungalow we were greeted warmly by Bunty, and later his lovely wife Pinky. The rooms have a homely feel to them, and all clean. There was however a lot of mosquitos in the downstairs room, not so in the upstairs, but...this was alleviated somewhat with Bunty giving us plug in mosquito repellant. The upstairs room is a lot more roomy and light, so if available I recommend this one. As you step out of the rooms you'll find yourself in the family's courtyard cum restaurant, with a nice sheltered seating area. A great place to just relax and read or order some of Pinky's tasty home cooked food. Dinner was a surprise each time as there is no set menu, but rather Pinky's selections of Indian home cooked dishes, all entirely fresh, which will be good whatever is served, guaranteed! However, as a traveller with little money requiring careful expenditure, 3 meals a day was not feasible for us. ₹250 for dinner, and ₹125 for breakfast for most I'm sure is incredibly reasonable, though ₹80 for fresh lime soda was a bit much. Spending time with the family was a highlight for us, learning so much about Rajasthani culture, the family's history, as well as food and preparation. They're a very chatty family =) We celebrated Diwali festival with them, met the rest of the family including Bunty's brother who is a collector - ask to talk to him and see this if you like. Pinky was very eager to get us dressed up in traditional Indian attire, dressing the women in her saris and myself in a turban and one of Bunty's tops - very fun! Their daughter gave us a little tour around Nawalgarh, showing us the family of potters working hard in preparation for Diwali, the Havelis (offering info on them), and temples. She also offered to take us to the nearby mountains, but we instead got a bus (40 minutes), again because of our budgeting and could not afford to expend on things we can do by ourselves. D.S. Bungalow offers great value for money and experience, it was a pleasure staying here and chilling out. I'll be returning upon next coming to Rajasthan!More

Our group of five had a great meal at this restaurant. Our vegetarian dinner was freshly prepared, authentic, and home style. Portions were large and the price was very reasonable. We very much enjoyed the hospitality of the owners, Pinky and Bunty. A great evening.

This restaurant is part of D. S. Banglow Guesthouse which is located near Roop Niwas Palace. We had a fabulous meal here. It was an authentic, home style, freshly prepared vegetarian dinner. Portions were large and the price was more than reasonable. The owners, Pinky...and Bunty, were warm and welcoming hosts. This was one of the better meals we had on our trip and we would certainly recommend the restaurant.More

Semi open air cafe offers delicious meals with impeccable service. A good vegetarian lunch cost us Rs.270 each. The staff are young men who offer help in locating various sightseeing attractions and are multilingual.

We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. The location is wonderful. They have their own farm which the guesthouse backs onto so there are beautiful views. You are on the outskirts of town so there is lots of countryside around...and its very quiet. Our bedroom was on the 1st floor and had a big private terrace and staircase leading up to it, very private and roomy! The bedroom itself was huge, its own living area with sofa, chairs and coffee table. A really big room! Interesting decoration, not modern but homely. We did have a couple of lizard friends running around the walls and hiding under picture frames! The bathroom was equally as big, OK, not the cleanest and the toilet had a leak. The guesthouse is small so you get a nice experience, always being able to chat to the hosts who are lovely and welcoming. Food is good, all fresh and made whatever time you want it. It was quite expensive though for the amount and quality that you got. That's probably the only negative.More
