Ok - just in case you aren’t sure - Indian Street food is served almost tapas style so the portions aren’t going to be huge but trust me they are sufficient! The flavours are phenomenal and the quality excellent. You need to be able to cope with medium spice at least to really enjoy food here.
Came on a Thursday early evening and by 7pm was nearly full. I am not surprised. Everything we ate was fantastic and the service very attentive. We weren’t rushed in any way but were done within an hour and fifteen!
Cant wait to go back with friends

Great food and cocktails but although we had booked we still felt rushed as being told we had to vacate table after 10 mins. I was rushing my last drink I ordered. Not a nice feeling at all. Other than that food was lovely

Wanted to try a curry here for quite a while, finally got a chance last night. Its a street food restaurant and is fairly small so tables are quite close , if you are still wary regarding covid may want to wait a while before visiting. I booked a table online for 7.30pm on a Thursday and there was only 1 table empty after we arrived, so booking is advised. The service was very good with the waiters happy to explain dishes, they have beer on draft along with some local IPA's, the one I tried was nice but was a fiver for a 440ml can so quite expensive. We had the mixed veggie starter and enjoyed all the elements and then a sea bass and a lamb main with rice and garlic naan. We really enjoyed both meals , very nice balance of flavours and the lamb was very soft, the portion sizes were smaller than in a traditional curry house but still filling.

Our table was booked for 7.30. The main course finally arrived at 9.30. How did this happen? When we got there they said "Your table isn't available yet". We went to the pub next door for twenty minutes. A starter came and went. An hour passed. Eventually the mains began to emerge, bit by bit; we sat looking at them until the last one arrived. 9.40 by this stage.
At no time did the waiter - who was perfectly pleasant - apologise, offer any explanation, or even offer to knock the drinks off the bill.
The food was perfectly OK. But why would I ever go there again? And why would anyone reading this take a chance on Hitchki?

First, I’ll review the venue, from the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. The place was immaculate with a lovely quality feel about it. The staff are friendly and helped explain the menu.
Next the food. Wow. It was amazing, we ordered a selection of starters so we could try a variety of dishes. Fresh and full of flavour, spiced but not overly, so you taste the other ingredients.
The drinks were priced well, a bottle of Rose wine was £15, I thought that was very reasonable. They have draft Cobra on as well served in nice branded glasses.
I will be going back to explore more from the menu, I had a great time and wish I’d tried it earlier as I am a local.
Try it for yourself!

We've been tonight and the food and service were so good we had to leave a review. It was the best curry and street food that we've had. Cheadle has great options when it comes to Indian cuisine with restaurants like the Tiffin room and Aamchi Mumbai and although those places are excellent Hitchki is our new favourite. The waiters were very attentive and wanted to make sure everything was OK with our food. The food was excellent. We are both vegetarian and there were plenty of options on the menu for us. The restaurant is also doing a deal on certain nights where you recieve a discount so although we ordered a sharing platter, a side, 4 soft drinks and 2 mains it all came to under £40.

Hitchki came to Cheadle''s High Street not long ago and I remember its ravenous reviews, so on Wednesday 1 February 2023 I went there to eat something before going home, as I was out all day in Warrington.
There was just an elderly couple at the moment I stepped in the restaurant and I could sit in the corner at the window.
As a starter I ordered Keema Pav and as a main I ordered Lamb Beliram on the recommendation of the waiter, as I could not decide on this one, the Lamb Railway and the Steamed Seabass in Banana Leaf. I had also a Cobra Zero to drink. This all is at the grand total of £24.70.
I could see why Hitchki is very popular - as soon I settled myself in this restaurant, it had quickly been full and even some patrons had unfortunately been turned away.
Though I was just passing by and I think that I got lucky, but it deserves definitely the recommendation to reserve seats beforehand, which could be done on its website or by (mobile) phone.
On a personal note, I have fond memories of my holidays in India in 2010 (Tamil Nadu) and although I can certainly tell you that the foods in India are the most authentic, which is why I am able to distinguish between these from India and these in most Indian restaurants on average. However, I am of opinion that the foods at Hitchki have been found their match, which tasted with all the flavours I experienced throughout; fresh, chewy, soft, (bitter)sweet, mellow, silky and above all compassionate with hints of different spices!
Cheadle always amazes me with its hidden gems!

Absolutely incredible food and 10/10 service, could not fault it. 2 glasses of wine/ two beers for 5.25 with the 241 offer which was a pleasant surprise!!Would recommend getting either the naan/ rice per person PLUS another naan/ rice between a couple, or a side, if you have a good appetite. 2 mains and 4 alcoholic drinks came to £37- I wished we lived closer as would have eaten it all over again in an instant.

Very disappointed!
Portions are very small and a rushed service, literally we was served a 2 course meal and was in and out within 35 mins!
Food was good though just not enough of it and they don’t serve poppadoms which I found a little odd.
Won’t be going back nor would we be recommending.
A lot of better restaurants within walking distance.

Visited twice in a week, once with my sister then again with a mate. Small venue, smartly decorated and really clean. Good varied menu with some street food and a few unusual fusion dishes. The choice of Starters was really good, I would definitely recommend the tandoori salmon. The curries come in small portions but were incredibly tasty, same with the Naan breads. Overall fantastic experience all round, well worth 5 stars.

Family party of 10, went on my hubbys and my recommendation, and glad to say everybody enjoyed the meal, all stating, they will definitely return, as the food was so good. I had the Bhel Puri for starters, which is a spicy puffed rice dish, with pomegranate seeds, so tasty, then had the Chicken Kolhapuri, which was so flavoursome. £357.00 for 10 people, all had starts, mains and 2 or 3 drinks each.

We weren’t able to try this newish opening before Covid intervened. We did, however, get a home delivery from them last autumn and, although the food was only OK, we did decide we’d try the actual restaurant when it felt safe to do so. Unlike most places we’ve been to since restrictions were removed, Hitchki hasn’t chosen to keep protections such as distanced tables or staff mask wearing. As for the menu, it majors on Indian street food. Now, that’s already a crowded market in this area – with Indian Tiffin Room and Aamchi Mumbai at the other end of Cheadle, and big hitters like Bramhall’s Bombay to Mumbai.
We ordered bhel puri as one of the starters. The one we had as home delivery had been mediocre but this was much better. There was the expected contrast in textures, with the rice nice and crisp. Spicing was good, with a perky sweet/sharp sauce. Samosa chaat was also a decent effort – the crisp pastry of the vegetable samosa contrasting nicely with the soft earthiness of the scattering of chickpeas. There’s a drizzle of yoghurt and another of tamarind (?) sauce.
For mains, aloo gobi is a regular order for us. We’ve had good ones and we’ve had not so good ones. This was somewhere in the middle. A clingy, almost dry, sauce (just as you hope) coated potatoes and slightly overcooked cauliflower but there’s good use of spices here. Chicken Kohlapuri was fine. More often it’s a vegetarian dish but, from time to time, you come across chicken or lamb versions. I’m not convinced they improve on the veggie version. It’s a complex dish which uses a wide range of spices and the chef has done well with the well-rounded masala. S/he has also managed to keep the chicken quite moist. We also took an order of tadka daal – really good (it was the thing we’d enjoyed most in the home delivery meal). Main courses come with a choice of either rice or plain naan. That’ll be one of each, please. And both were very good. Good bit of crispiness in the naan and the rice nice and fluffy.
As for service, well, it was a bit patchy. The place was quite busy, no doubt because of their current 20% discount offer. Drinks orders were taken quickly and they arrived soon after. But there was then a 20 minute finger-tapping delay before food orders were taken and another longer than expected wait for starters.
So, this was a decent enough meal and I’m glad we went but it doesn’t offer enough to tempt us away from our regular places of the likes of Bombay to Mumbai or West Didsbury’s Indique.

The restaurant is lovely, an authentic Indian style and lovely décor. The food was simply amazing, the presentation and taste without a doubt the best I have experienced in an Indian restaurant in the UK and abroad! The restaurant is not very big, yet there was enough staff to give each table the attention it needed. Also, staff went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The explanation of the menu was clear and helped the undecided at the table make the choice they were happy with.
It was my first visit to this restaurant, but Hitchki definitely will be one of the restaurants we come back to regularly!
Highly recommended!

Our third visit here, once again great service and excellent food. Staff are very friendly and will advise on dishes as isn't a traditional curry house menu. Good range of starters and mains available, we have chosen a different selection on each visit so far and been impressed by all of them.

Another fantastic meal at Hitchki . This was our second visit here in the last couple of months and both occasions have been great. Service and venue were excellent, with this being a "street food" curry restaurant the curries are a little different than you would get in a traditional place, but the staff are on hand with advice if you are not sure what to order. Last time we had the vegetarian sharer platter so we opted for one of the tikka platters, all the elements were very nice but the salmon was the stand out element. The mains were small portions, but very flavourful and are served with rice or naan, we had ordered an additional starter and both of us were full at the end of the evening.
