Mindblowing Thali!

Hotel Atithi Bamboo is heaven for seafood lovers. The seafood here is unbeatable. They have very high quality, good quantity servings and excellent service. I was absolutely blown apart by the food here. The visit to Malvan is incomplete without having a meal at this restaurant. Most of the sea food items are not available. pricing is High & hygiene is challenge fish fry was salty though we visited as the restaurant was TOP is trip advisor. not a great place to eat.

Out of many Malvan restaurants we visited I will rate Athithi Bamboo as the Best. The food was tasty and lot of variety. We got squids and black promfet at this restaurant. Although it lacks in ambience and hygiene but makes up for the service and taste of food. Usually there is a long waiting period at this restaurant.

Terrible Mutton Thali and hygiene or let’s say lack of it.

We went there with high expectations as everyone suggested is to go there, there was waiting and it took us 20mins to get a table which was more like a community table. We asked for menu card and the menu card had fish curry spilled on it and no one took the effort to clean it. The glasses were looking dirty. The table was properly cleaned and when asked we asked the staff to clean they were like least interested. Let’s get to ordering food now, we ordered 4 thalis, 2 mutton thalis, 1 prawns and 1 Mori (baby shark) mutton thali, mutton was just uncooked and horrible, when asked the waiter he said its very hard to find good mutton in Malvan, when we asked why he didn’t tell this when we ordered he went silent. The guy brought our thalis and in my thali he had kept his ordering pad on the chapattis. He even argued when asked for chapatti instead of bhakri. The mutton was uncooked and it just spoiled our mood, as we waited for it for about 30-40 mins. With that said Mori mutton was genuinely tasty and even fried prawns. Bottom line there are many better restaurants this is just hyped and the success has gone into their heads, totally avoid this. I rate it zero stars as the overall experience was pathetic.

Not as good as reviews say

The items given in the Thalis were meager. Ordered a Shark Fish and a King Fish Thali. Both were lacking..... Shark was lacking in taste and the fried King Fish piece was very thin. Not what is expected in a fishing Village. Ordered a side order of Crabs Dry Masala No Gravy and was given Three small Crabs dipped in Rava and Deep fried (!). Of this Two were stale. RETURNED! Rice had to be asked for as only maida-fied Chappaties are given. The Fish Curry was not too bad but should have been better. A very lousy experience at a supposedly Famous Restaurant. We'd gone on a Friday

Once you visit the place, will know why it is high rated. Taste was awesome and i loved fried prawn served by this hotel. Waiting is required so be ontime parking require attention as car will park on road and in malvan are small. I recommend to visit this place for authentic malvan food

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Malvan. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths......................absolutely the best meal we had while in Malvan. The service is unmatched and the staff are hospitable and cares about your requirements. Highly recommend!

The Konkani folk are extremely hospitable. The manager at this hotel really knows how to serve his guests. He was so happy to serve us. The food was hot and tasty. Authentic malwani taste. It has the best sol kadhi

Terrible Place. Over hyped in reviews.

Visited the restaurant for lunch on a Sunday & was told that there was a 30 minute wait. Since it was just 12.45 pm, we decided that we would wait for 30 minutes since the reviews were so amazing. It took us 1 hr 15 minutes to get a table. Till then we were standing in a hot congested & over crowded waiting area. The restaurant itself is very dirty. The entire place stinks from the foul smell emerging from the bathroom. We ordered a prawns thali, mori(shark thali) and kingfish thali. Food was below average. No taste at all. I had huge expectations considering the long waiting queues & hype but was very disappointed. They charge Rs450 plus taxes per thali. The quantity of items served in the thali was very less. Rice is served later when you ask for it. Sweet dish is also served later only when you ask about it. Right from the curry to solkadi to fish fry to gulab jamun was tasteless & sub par. Nor do they have any ambience. So how can they justify such a high price?? Famous restaurants in Goa charge less price for fish thali where quantity, quality & ambience is so good. We vistited another restaurant called as Malvan Food Station at Chivala beach hotel. This restaurant is at 2 mins walking distance from Atithi Bamboo. The place is very clean and well ventilated. Polite helpful staff. Moreover food is very delicious, quick service & large serving quantity. Price is also very less than Atithi Bamboo. We ended up eating all of our remaining meals at Food Station. Also got some Malvani chicken curry parcelled for our trip back to Goa. The food was that yummy. Will definitely recommend Food Station restaurant at hotel chivala beach. Athithi Bamboo is a huge AVOID!!
