Upon arrival at the resort we we're welcome by 1staff from Hurawalhi as we came from other island. They serve us welcome drinks and after few minutes they assist us going to the Restaurant. I was amaze walking down the stairs in barefoot going to...the restaurant, it is a magical experience. We went for lunch and there is a lot of different species of fishes around and we got lucky as there are few guests who went there that time and we enjoyed it there so much taking a lot of photos and videos of the marine life. The food was all amazing, I really loved the toothfish and wagyu beef (as I really love truffles) and the dessert everything is picture perfect. I tried a portion of the Canadian Lobster from my partner and it is so good. We tried the wine pairing for 1person and so far the choice of wine compliments well with all the food courses. We finished our lunch and we feel so sleepy waiting for our boat and we stay for around half an hour in their lounge. We paid our meals through cash and it is very easy transaction, no hassle at all. Over all experience is one of a kind as it is rare to find undersea restaurant in the Maldives.More

Okay, we were staying at the resort with this restaurant right there, teasing us! The world's largest underwater restaurant (and there are not a lot of underwater restaurants in the world either!). We talked ourselves into it and we went for the lunch. I did...see the menu beforehand and we were a little wary since in my opinion the food being served was a little more lofty than what we usually eat. The ambiance was incredible and of course eating with the view was what we were there for. But when I was there, I was thinking I have been to Sea World and walked through a similar tunnel and saw so many sharks! I though, was this really worth it. I would definitely have to say no. And I am sorry about that. I wanted to experience this and I did, but I probably shouldn't have. My favorite courses were the Wagyu and dessert. Those were seriously tasty. And my husband really loved the truffle potatoes served with the Wagyu. We did have fun watching the fish and we did see one shark. I was a little disappointed that the inclusive didn't include the drinks at this restaurant also.More

This trip to 5.8 restaurant on the island of hurawalhi was planned 2 yrs ago but covid stopped it so this year we managed to make it. It was a 40th wedding anniversary night out and what a place to go. We was greeted with...a cocktail and taken down below to our table. What a wondrous place.the largest single piece, underwater restaurant in the world.made in Japan and sailed over on a ship. The menu was fixed,7 courses for dinner or 5 for lunch.we chose dinner. The 7 courses were mainly fish with beluga caviar, lobster, patagonian tooth fish? and other things I can't remember.the one meat dish was wagyu and it was cooked to perfection.the last dish was a sweet, chocolate bomb. My wife chose the vegetarian option and she loved it.most things were recognisable.she tried artichoke for the first time and enjoyed it. All these dishes were presented like works of art and all devoured. The wine list was exceptional and pricey. This was a special occasion and was a special night for us we enjoyed it immensely. the waiters explained every dish we were served and told us all about the food. Once again 5 stars and worth the wait.More

Came here for dinner from another resort, the welcome was great, special mention goes to Mita who welcomed us from the jetty. The atmosphere is amazing but the 7 course taster menu I didn't like plus the fact that you have to pay for the drinks...separately after paying so much for the food. The wine list was very creased inside, m going to attach it as the first picture. Staff was very good and pleasant. Overall it was a good experience dining with the fishes. A tip for next diners, Sit on the left middle as more fish seemed to congregate that side.More

OK, so the 5.8 restaurant is not cheap. In fact it's very expensive ! This said, the experience and food quality is truly outstanding. The staff are friendly and will accommodate changes to courses on the set menus without problem. I booked the restaurant to...celebrate my 60th birthday, and ended up visiting Hurawalhi on my 61st (Covid !) We had a great night out and would recommend the restaurant to anyone.More

5.8 is a once in a lifetime experience! The view is amazing and the food is really good. This place is expensive of course, but there are only around 5 underwater restaurants in the Maldives and this is the largest, I believe. Basically, if you...are going to pay for a vacation in the Maldives, then this is worth your time and money. We stayed at Komandoo adults only resort on the next island over, but they offer a boat ride to their sister resort to experience this fine dining under the sea. We went for the 7 course dinner and wine pairing. It was a memorable experience to say the least and everyone we dined with and on the staff that night were awesome. We would definitely come back. Thank you!More

My husband and I visited here recently. We were staying at Kuredu and took a short ride by water taxi to the restaurant. I honestly can't fault it. We opted to go for the evening set menu which meant that we got to see the...fish when it was still light then as it got darker we were able to see different types of fish and some sharks. The staff were super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful. I follow a gluten free diet and the chef was able to easily alter each dish to cater for this. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiters and I never felt rushed to finish a course. Although it is very expensive it really is a once in a lifetime experience that I would highly recommend doing if you get the chance.More

What a treat. This restaurant offers either a 5 course lunch or 7 course dinner. We opted for the dinner menu at 18:00 which is really good as it is still daylight when you go in so you can see all the coulorful fish but...as you eat the 7 course gourmet meal the light fades and as It gets dark different species of fish appear. As well as the smaller fish around the corals we saw a white tipped shark and some eagle rays. What a wonderful once in a lifetime experience with an imaginative great tasting menu!!!More
