Due to this being so popular be prepared to wait and sometimes for quite a while. The wait is worth while as the food is fantastic, service is genuine and price is event better. We have also found that the happier you are, the friendly you are the better you are looked after. Port toast is so good as are... More

Tried a second time but cannot recommend anyone to eat - there were flies everywhere and honestly just finished our drinks and left most of the food, Sorry tried once, tried twice but not a third time.

Very, very disappointed in the Red Onion. We have been here many times and it used to be our favourite restaurant. The waiting time was always worth it. This time we are so disappointed that I doubt we will return. Last week I had what was my absolutely favourite dish - tamarind prawns - and they were tasteless and watery.... More

The staff here were very friendly. The place gets busy though so be prepared to wait for at least 10 or so minutes. Not bad at all and they have chairs for you while you wait. We went on a recommendation from our hotel for good local Thai food. The food was amazing and didn't disappoint. The menu is massive... More

We are early eaters about 6pm. So no problem with getting table. Walking from start of the street , good distance to there. Seems to be on cheaper than other restaurants. Menu extensive. Very tasty. A bit rough in service but understandale as they were busy and alwasy looking for table. We were not comfortable sitting idle and chatting while... More

Overpriced. Below average good. Red Thai curry beef came out cold. Service was slow. I'd finished 1mins before others at the table were served. Don't go here walk a bit further down the road and find something better.

The Red Onion Restaurant has terrible stuff. They shout at people, don't serve for a while and asked us to leave a restaurant when we just remained them about the food. As well as this attitude there is a queue to the restaurant. There are plastic chairs and hot as everywhere. I don't suggest to eat there.

I put my hand as a notification for placing an order, and was told to "put your hand down, and I will come come when I am free" not sure if this is rude, you judge! the food taste average but looked nice, not so clean, wouldn't advice to go

Service was good and staff were friendly. The thai dishes were over the top. Highly recommended their Tom Yum Kung that was so rich and savoury yet not too spicy. Their curry was good too!

Whenever we walked pass this restaurant there were always queues. We decided to join the queue one evening! We had a tempura prawn starter which was delicious although disappointed with the seafood pad thai. Overall ok.
