This is a great pub with a chef who obviously understands good food. A good sign is a relatively short menu but all the ingredients were top notch and really well cooked. So few pubs reach this standard of simple quality with excellent ingredients. We're definitely going to make this a regular stop.

Very small and cosy with a country hamlet feel. Good food and fantastic hosts who make you feel instantly welcome. A real gem.

We've always had a warm welcome at the Chetnole Inn, the ales are always perfect, and the food delicious, especially their burgers, which are awesome! A lovely village, and a delight to wander around.

Love coming here - whether for just a few beers, lunch or dinner. We visit at least four or five times a year . There is always a warm and friendly welcome, a good menu to choose from, high quality food and well kept real ales. Always a very safe bet if friends are coming to stay and we are... More

Our first ever visit. We arrived without a booking and were made to feel very welcome by a pleasant and friendly landlady. An excellent choice on the menu - we went for the traditional Sunday roast and were served an excellent meal. Major problem with the desert menu - which one of several super sounding deserts to have!! Settled for... More

I have eaten at The Chetnole with various members of my family over the years and I would just like to say that the food is wonderful, all home cooked fresh ingredients and great food combinations! Maria and all her staff out front do an excellent job of looking after us. A brilliant country pub, with finely kept ales, well... More

Had evening meal in the bar - lovely bread and extras esp the fresh anchovies followed by cook your own (on a granite hot plate) fillet steak and the home made steak and ale pie. Were too full for puts! Georgia the bar maid was friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Had a useful chat... More

Very disappointed with two meals received ham (dry) eggs (rubbery) potato wedges (over cooked)) - breaded fish (very over cooked) skinny chips ok peas ok but served on stone cold plate . Not surprised that wasn't asked if everything was ok when paying ! Might suggest that the deep fat oil needs changing

Thank you for taking the time to review The Chetnole Inn. We are sorry you did not enjoy your lunch with us, as you can see from the majority of reviews from our two pages we get it right most of the time. I would like to take the chance to clarify a few points, the ham is home cooked... More
