From the outside, the Village du pecheur looks wonderful and mostly is prettily decorated once inside. But you can tell it is feeling the strain of cheap materials used. However, the food is a letdown and the service is absurdly unenthusiastic. WE HEARD THE MANAGEMENT TELLING OFF THE STAFF the whole time we were there. It was hard to concentrate... More

Of the several restaurants that we tried in the vicinity, I would say that this place has the best atmosphere and setting. The hotel where the restaurant is located is right on the beach and from your table you can see the stars through the palm trees and hear the waves on the beach. Restaurant is relatively small so the... More

On the menu it said Fish Trap Of The Day. I'm still not sure what kind of fish it was, but it was very tasty. My wife had the grilled fish fillet which was also good -- but mine was better. Sitting on the beach was terrific. I'm glad we were sitting in some shade so we weren't cooked as... More

The choice of restaurant in the Anse Volbert area is rather poor. This is apart from the Café des Arts one of the only “romantic” dining options in the area. The setting gets a 10/10. The service gets a 3/10 – Sullen, uninterested and unprofessional girl who served us. The wine gets a 3/10 – We were served ice cold... More

Contrarly to some other reviews i read, this place was one of the best of Praslin. Very good foos a la carte, table on the sand, nice and friendly staff with a very good service. May be i was lucky and it was not that crowed like in other periods.....

It seems to be that bad critics on service in this restaurant actually worked - the service was impeccable even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The food was great, setting too - actually, a dining experience to remember. Smaller portions would really improve overall experience.

The setting is really great - feet in the sand while you hear the waves rolling. However, we ordered 3 starters and 3 maincourses. We got 1 starter and about 20 minutes later (after asking several times) we received the other 2 starters. Over to the main course, we received 2 main courses and the third one we got after... More

Beautiful restaurant - too bad the food is average and the service is terrible. We were seated at an outside table but after 2 minutes it started to rain so we were moved inside. It was pretty early in the evening so there were maybe 3 or 4 tables with guests so not very busy but it still took them... More

Nice food, a bit expensive, but it's worth it, because it's right on the beach. So dine with your feet in the sand. Downside: the staff. Uninterested, arrogant or shy, we couldn't pinpoint it exactely.

Very friendly staff and a gorgeous location just on the beach. You sit with your feet in the sand in quite a large round venue. The food is very good (also plenty of choice and some 'western' dishes) and the service is excellent. Great 'cocktail of the day' for a very good price.
