Really delicious and traditional Cretan foods! Although quiet the night we went the service was great! Highly recommend the lamb chops and the fried pumpkin balls. The meal was finished with a basket of lovely fresh fruit and preserves. Wish we could have eaten more!

We have generally very good experience with eating in Crete, but this one by far surpasses all the others. The location is amazing, the food absolutely fantastic, the owners so kind, and it is a unique and genuine experience of real autentique Crete. Don't miss...it if you are on the surroundings. Not only the food was excellent but the portions were gigantic. The host is a friendly person and his tavern is a beautiful place.

We visited this taverna on a random week night in May. When we arrived there were no guests so at first we had our doubts. The owner speaks only a little English but just enough to understand each other. The menu was only in Greek,...so he translated it for us but since there was so much food available and it all sounded so delicious we made the deal that he would just select some starters and meat and that we would share with the 7 of us. It was all very delicious! We can especially recommend the fried aubergine and the lamb, but just let him select some foods and you'll be surprised. We only paid 12 euros per person including wine and water and fruit and raki dessert.More

Great taste, traditional well cooked. The taverns itself is full of photographs and items of the every day farmer. The fireplace and the owner made the place very friendly. A must, when you are in Heraklion. The home done was very good too. No headache...in the morning after several bottles. You need to check the prices first if you are on a budget, anyway you must taste them all...More
