Be prepared to wait. The waiters are not willing to serve and somehow disorganized. Otherwise nothing special, a typical restaurant.

Despite of a long awaiting time to be served, the Pizza restaurant doesn’t serve pizza. Food below expectation!

Absolutely horrendous! Extremely unorganised! The staff was truly badly mannerless and impolite, I would even say rude from start to finish. Besides we waited 47 minutes exactly for a portion of chips, needless to say that we had to order this same portion twice. However,...we didn’t have a single bite of a single chip and were nearly charged for the portion. The food was alright, although not worth the wait. Non Italian speakers like ourselves good luck with...everything. So the 2€ paid for each person as a service fee is not only ridiculous but unacceptableMore

Very delicious food, nice & friendly service. We had lunch, quick service. Love to come back. Highly recommended if you want to eat a nice Italian food. Don’t miss the desserts! ;)

Delicious fish and great Seadas. The portions were just right, not enough for sharing. But that brought us to share and taste more dishes. Great wine too!

I love Italian restaurants where the entire family grandparents-to-grandchildren comes together for a meal. That's "Il Veliero". We were lucky to get a table for eight at short notice at 19:15: From 19:30 on the restaurant filled up rapidly. We had mostly pizza and one...seafood dish which were all fresh an delicious. The tomato salad and tomato with mozzarella were a real let down - it's so sad that the Italians serve taste-free-watery tomatoes. We didn't have time to eat more; as we had to free up the table by 21:00 - my tip: if you want to enjoy more, book your table in advance!More

Il veliero is an excellent restaurant. During the 17 days stay, we ate with family 17 supper. Excellent pizza, pasta, seafood squid (nowhere better I have not eaten), beef steak, shells, fish. The quality of food is excellent. For dessert, I recommend mandarinello. Service very...nice. We were wonderful there.More

We ate primi (pasta) with clams. Its only a few clams in the plate, the price was not worth it, the taste really basic and it was also too oily. I sometimes really don't understand with these kind of restaurants. They have big place, location...and instruments to have good food but why not just doing it? I mean not just to make money but also to make people satisfied with their foodMore

We had fried calamari for starter that tasted ok. Mind you they don't offer any dips with calamari. Husband ordered Sardinian pasta dish with sausages that was quite tasty, very traditional. My fish course was something else. Sea bass with white wine sauce as described...on the menu came swimming in a broth of cooked wine, possibly the worst fish I have ever eaten. Did not enjoy it at all, luckily there was so much of the squid from the starter that I was full. As there is not much choice in Solanas, we did come back another night for takeaway pizza, recommended by locals and it was very good indeed. So hit and miss with this one, but with a very extensive menu they offer, something you could predict.More

This is a good place in Solanas to get a good family meal at reasonable price. The pizza Carlofortina (tuna, pesto Genovese, fresh pachino tomatoes) was excellent (thin crust) and so the home made fregole with vongole (may be add few more vongole next time)....The home made tortelli with ricotta were very tasty too. There is a nice terrace and a large room inside (we were inside, next to the window, with a nice air breeze). The waitress was very helpful.More
