This restaurant has been on our list for a long time! Finally thanks to our kids for gifting us with dinner and stay at Peat inn! Middle of no where this place has been refurbished to a very high standard, we got the garden facing room. The view of the immaculately kept garden and the near by farm with all... More

A family lunch turned into a great event because of the quality of the food and the attentive staff. An excellent menu with something for everyone, topped off by the presentation and the quality of the service. Although higher end dining, it was very reasonable for the standard of food and service. Very enjoyable.

It's a long drive from Edinburgh (best to ignore the sat nav) just for lunch but it's always worth it. It was a special occasion -- my brother in law's 80th and we were not disappointed. Only one curiosity - I had the brill which was perfectly cooked but served on a bed of very bland beans. I can't understand... More

Took my wife for a special night out on 'another' visit to the Peat Inn. We unfortunately chose the tasting menu which comprised of 7 minuscule courses all of which could have easily been assembled on a single plate. In addition to the micro lamb chop, the penultimate course consisted of a 'crisp' which covered a tiny blob of cheese... More

Visited here with friends for set lunch. Excellent value, staff very accommodating, food fantastic, had to go back 2 days letter to try all over again, was not disappointed. Bread basket is amazing. A bit out of the way so car/taxi required but worth effort. Already booked to go for Anniversary.

I am unable to add much of anything useful to the glowing reviews The Peat Inn has deservedly received from many visitors. There are only so many positive adjectives available in the English language, and the food, accommodation, and service offered here are so consistently superb that details of our visit would be redundant. OK, if you are a foodie,... More

Excellent ambience and dining areas. Efficient staff and chatty sommelier. Lunched with 4 courses and matching wines. The chef is used to offering a lot of courses at night for dinner and each course is small. Trouble is the lunch menu is only 4 courses and these are the same small portion! They should be 20% larger.... Two good courses... More

Had an absolutely beautiful meal here and can't thank the staff enough for extending the life of our gift voucher, which had gone missing after a house move! This level of customer service is what creates loyalty and encourages word of mouth recommendations, so well done Peat Inn! I chose from the a la carte menu and wan't disappointed (langoustines,... A table for 6 discerning ladies.. Absolutely superb lunch. The Peat Inn staff have made customer service their priority and deliver 100%. The food is amazing, tasty, fabulously presented and the chefs deserve their stars! The braised beef I ate today was the tastiest I have had for years. This restaurant deserves its status - one of the best restaurants... More

Description
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.
From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
