The problem with Shirma's is that she does Soups on Saturday Lunchtime and BBQ on Friday nights and I have trouble remembering. So I missed all the BBQ's and got 2 Soups. The Soups are amazing with a choice of Veg, Cow Heel and Pig Tail. I really liked the Cow Heel Soup, it really did have a proper hoof... More

Sherma's Cafe and Bar serves local food that leaves you satisfied. I bought lunch for TT $40 that was truly delicious. 'Good Tobago food' as we Trinis (people from Trinidad and Tobago) like to say - thin dumplings, stewed fish, macaroni pie, provisions; yam, sweet potato etc, and black-eyed peas. While I enjoyed the food at the Caribbeam Kitchen restaurant... More

Friday night's Shirma's have a barbecue evening the food is excellent and very tasty. It is great to support all the local restaurants, the location may not be great and the food presented in a takeaway container may not be all people's taste but I can only say the food is great. The bread and shark stall behind the lifeguard... More

Shirma's is the place for great food by the locals, for the locals and with the locals - at almost 1/2 the cost of the other places! Tasty choices of very well prepped and cooked fish or meat with genuine local sides - if you mind a plastic box - then bring a plate! Excellent music surrounds you as you... More

I eat a couple barbeques at Shirma's put on by Walter and his family. This is a regular event at Shirma's. They usually offer chicken, and fish and sometimes other options. . The barbeque comes with a variety of options: rice, noodles, vegetables, lentils and such things. It is alot of food for $40 or 45 Ttd (approximately $8-9 Canadian).... More

Their love of very loud music means that the main bar is usually empty and everyone is on the roadside or in the BBQ area at the back! Excellent rum punch and on their BBQ nights, this is a must. Good choice and very very cheap. The downside is that food comes served in polystyrene boxes but, given lack of... More

Always a great mix of people ! 40TT for box meal, bbq fish, chicken or pigtail with plenty of 'sides', more than enough all served up by the lovely Joy daughter of Shirma. BBQ manned by "Dangles" with a smile to break many a heart I am sure! Popular with visitors and locals alike. Shirma also bakes bread and hops(rolls) most... More

If you want a traditional Tobagan beer experience ,there is no better experience. Warm, gentle proprietors who couldn't make you feel more at home. On top of the ambience, shared with the fascinating locals, Shirma cooks specialities that are missed at your regret (Wednesday lunchtime is Roti day, Friday evening is barbecue and Saturday lunchtime is soup). If your thing... More

The food was great tasting food and at a reasonable price. Would certainly visit again whenever travelling to Castara.
