We had a dorada (fish, not beer) here for lunch. The restaurant is in a picturesque little street in what I would suggest is La Gomera's most attractive little town. The views of Tenerife from Agulo are terrific. The fish were good- a tad (like a minute) too long on the plancha, but still moist, without too much flesh sticking... More

Tiny, delightful in an old school house in Agulo. Just a few seats outside and small Canarian menu. Fresh fish with the delicious salted Canarian potatoes; garlic prawns with local bread and goat stew. We all really enjoyed. Highly recommend - been back a couple of times and always excellent.

We parked our car on the main San Sebastian-Vallehermosa road and walked into the village of Agulo. We found this restaurant tucked away on one of the small side roads. We could have taken the car but it is a narrow road. The place was small but clearly popular and the menu was in 4 languages. The owner was very... More

I thought the waiter was deaf and dumb at first but he suddenly came to life on receiving a tip from a group of Germans who had obviously enjoyed their meal of fresh fish and locally produced vegetables. Engaging them in conversation I was delighted to hear they had extended their stay due to the temperate climate, great walks and... More

Excellent Gomeran dishes at reasonable prices. Also, given one of the family has allergy to nuts and eggs, reassuring that allergens printed on menu. Host too busy for leisurely conversation because he works so hard. Don't mistake that for unfriendly. He's not, particularly if you try and speak a bit of Spanish. Absolutely recommend this restaurant.

I have been going to Vieja Escuela for at least ten years and I consider it as one of the best restaurants in La Gomera. My favorite dishes is the gamba shrimp and the tuna. The setting of the restaurant, on a quiet street in charming Agulo, allows you to enjoy one of the best views of that town, which... More

First meal of the holiday and one of the best. Lovely location and loads of Gomeran food. You might need to book.

As with these things, we ambled across this delightful place. Dropped to then sample the Best cuttlefish I ever had, griddled just enough to crisp the outside to bring out the salty flavour. My partners Tuna steak was exceptional. Beer served at precisely the right temperature. Perfect
