Another disappointment from the cottage. Monosyllabic grunting from grumpy bar staff, who have to be chased around the bar area before we could get served at all. "Hello, what can I get you?" There's a service standard and social skill beyond the staff this evening....More

I have eaten at the Home Cottage previously and found it quite good. However my visit at the weekend was disappointing. I chose items on the specials board. The starter was a quiche which had a salad garnish and a little balsamic vinegar. This was...More

I visited with a few friends for lunch. Two of us shared 2 starters, the bread selection with pesto and roasted garlic and the charcuterie plate. Both were very enjoyable, although the garlic would have benefited from slightly longer baking as it was still quite...More

Had a meal here on a Sunday evening. The pub itself is very cosy and has a nice atmosphere. We all opted for a roast which was very nice although a little pricey at £14. We shared a couple of desserts between us which were...More

Really poor service, most disappointing. In Redhill this passes for upmarket. I've been using this place of and on for 20-30 years, now entering an off period. Avoid until they get customer service back on the menu.

Really nice atmosphere, nicely done out. Definitely go again, Burger overcooked and not enough blue cheese that we paid extra for.

We often watch the rugby matches at this pub as the finger food (lite bites) are tasty and the drinks menu is varied. Always a nice atmosphere here and dog friendly. The toilets were a little unclean on a few occasions we have been but...More

I took a work colleague here specifically because he wanted to catch a train and I recommend it as local and friendly as I had been here many times. Oh how wrong.... Open the door and no bar staff were to be seen... Had to...More

Good pub serving nice food with a deent beer and wine selection. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey but still the best place to drink in Redhill town centre, by far!

The pub was packed on the Friday night we went and the staff were rushed off their feet and clearly stressed out. Prices for food and drink were high. My partner's lamb main course was also fatty and unappetising yet expensive. Overall a disappointing experience.

Description
Nestled in the heart of Redhill, The Home Cottage is a magnificent pub and dining room that has been refurbished to its former 19th century glory, providing a stylish and contemporary interior in which to enjoy time with family and friends. We have a great range of drinks including our award winning Young's Bitters, an extensive wine list and both traditional and signature cocktails. Our creative head chef, Marcin, showcases the best of traditional British food with modern touches and Mediterranean influences on our seasonal menus. As Young's Food Pub of the Year 2014, we pride ourselves on varied dishes of a high quality, paired with fine wines from around the world and traditional cask ales, all served by our friendly and welcoming staff. Whether you are a local or a visitor to the area, you will always be offered the warmest of welcomes, so sit back and relax in our cosy bar, our light and airy dining room (which becomes more intimate once the candles are lit), or chill out in our garden.
