Recently changed hands. The Golf had become run-down and dowdy. Now it is clean and good again. Dining room/bar busy on a wet winter's day. Don't let the non-interested receptionist put you off - the waitress was very helpful and friendly. Good, well-presented food - despite the menu being rather lengthy. Dog welcomed.

Went for a Sunday carvery lunch with the family. A very popular carvery lunch with other food available with large portions. The only downside was that the back part of the restaurant where we were was not very warm.

We had a choice of one restaurant for our last night in Silloth so I'll be honest, I wasn't expecting anything other than boil in the bag Brakes Brothers kind of stuff but that certainly wasn't the case. I ordered lamb Henry and my husband went for the belly pork and when they arrived I was staggered. The portions were... More

Went for a meal while staying in Silloth. Bar/restaurant is modern and well decorated. Cleanliness is very good. I would describe the menu as much that you would find in many British pubs, giving a wide choice to suit most tastes. The meals we had were very well cooked, portions generous and tasty. The Golf Hotel is not high end... More

Waiter/barman helpful and pleasant. Had scampi and chips which were very tasty. Homemade chips. Plenty to eat. Only fault side salad lettuce was slightly soggy, think it had been dressed too soon cucumber and tomato very crunchy though. Decor needs updating slightly shabby . Will return !

My husband and I ate in the golf hotel on Saturday 12th November and both had a fabulous meal , the service we received was excellent and the food did not disappoint . This is the third or perhaps fourth time we have eaten here and have always enjoyed our food .

We love going for Sunday lunch here chilled out atmosphere friendly helpful hard working staff..nothing is too much trouble very clean and modern. We never intended to have the Sunday carvery as the menu is sublime. After watching the chefs skills on the pork shoulder and lamb shanks our mouths were watering. We ended up pushing the boat out and... More
