Excellent Service and Food

I had a Thai set menu and it was truly delicious, I am not normally a dessert person, but now love the mango and sticky rice! My table looked over the sea and I enjoyed watching the world go by. Great service, setting, complemented with wonderful food. I would normally take a picture, only my phone took a swim with me!!

Outstanding food & service in stunning location

We were a large group of 9 with no reservation but they quickly put a large table together and the food & service was outstanding. We all had appetisers, mains and shared desserts. We were very surprised the restaurant wasn’t busier as it was our favourite dining experience of our week long holiday. Stunning location on a raised deck overlooking the beach and entire bay with a light breeze to ward off the heat. Very comfortable chairs and so lovely watching the sky change colours and all the lights coming on around us. The lovely Thai lady serving us spoke excellent English and was so professional and friendly. Highly recommend!!!

Nice ambience, very good food with a view to live for, many vegetarian options too. Just ahead of famous CocoTams and you can partially see their fire works from there too Well served by the waiting staff!!!

Definitely nowhere near as good as it used to be

We literally couldn’t wait to go back to the H Bistro, having not been in Thailand for 3 years. On my last visit I gave it 5 stars. Unfortunately, 3 years on it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Firstly, it’s been refurbished and although it’s been quite nicely done, it is so bright it’s unreal, not the romantic beachfront feel it used to have. The food itself wasn’t bad but everything else was poor. The service was slow and disjointed (we finished one of the main courses before the second one arrived) and by the time we were offered the desert menu we were told the kitchen had closed so we could only have ice cream! The staff in general just didn’t seem to care, they were far more focused on breaking down temporary seating that had been put up on the beach. The drinks were served with both plastic straws and plastic mixing rods! We are in 2023 and surely you people know you are killing the planet! There was just no need for a mixing rod and paper straws are so easy to buy nowadays! In summary, we would not go back, which really is quite disappointing re the great memories we had of H Bistro from years back

Very helpful and attentive

Called in speculatively as have had drinks at beach bar a few times which have been good and very reasonably priced and went into restaurant area . Amazed only people there as location is lovely and menu varied and reasonably priced. They were happy to serve off day menu even though time was wrong. Scallop starter beautifully done and presented. Main was as we hoped . Deserved more people in to be honest would definitely return

Thaoi Cooking Class at Hansar Samui

Very special and unique cooking class at Hansar samui with seaview!! Me and my friends just had a wonderful time with Lily and Yoko while learning the most amazing Thai dishes. The staff were just incredible and the food was delicious.

Great Sushi

This was a lovely restaurant for dinner and away from the hustle and bustle of Fishermans village. Some of the best sushi I have ever eaten along with the mango sticky rice which was delicious.

Almost perfect with a few things to improve

Breakfast you can order your eggs from the menu which sometimes they are too frazzled to give u. You need to ask for it. The buffet has porridge, pancakes, french toast, assortment of breads, jams, peanut butter, granolas, yogurt, a salad bar, a noodle dish and a rice dish. Fresh fruits are also available according to season. Order your coffees but juice and ginger tea is on the line. There's a sausage and bacon on offer and choose from fried eggs, boiled eggs, eggs benedict actually not bad, scrambled eggs and omelet from the hot menu. The serve a great mango mojitos and the lunch team is very attentive. Food here is quite reasonable not cheap but hotel standard is not insane pricing. They do a seafood dinner set for two on the beach for roughly 1500 baht which includes 2 cocktails and dine on the beach in a cute canopy like tent.

Delicious food and lovely staff

Visited during a 5 night stay on Koh Samui, The food was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful, they couldn’t do enough to ensure we enjoyed our evening. We enjoyed our meal so much that we decided to go back for our last night and do their dine under the stars option, the food was delicious and it really made our last night in Thailand.

Top Location, Top Thai Food

The H Bistro guarantees spectacular views. Great Thai food nicely presented. The European food is also very good. Low price level for a 5 star Hotel. Attentive, most friendly staff. We just love the place.

Romantic and Delicious

We chose the 6 course tasting menu served on the beach. In the event of rain, the alternate location would have been on 2nd floor near Chill Lounge-still an excellent view. Each course was presented in a timely fashion-we neither felt rushed to finish nor were we left waiting to receive. Unfortunately I was feeling full by the 5th course (Wagyu tenderloin), but we pressed on for the awaited dessert. The dessert was rich chocolate but the nice touch was the scattered praline as well as the chocolate dipped candied kiwi that paired well with the tea. My husband elected to include the wine pairing and their selections were excellent in complementing the food components. There was only one of the reds that was a tad spicy on its own but excellent with the sauce for the tenderloin. In addition to the excellent taste, the tuna carpaccio course was inventive in its presentation with the salad. The pricing was on par with other restaurants of this caliber on Samui and felt appropriate to the level of service and cuisine we experienced.

Not what we hoped for !

Sorry to report that the food (Thai menu) has lost the plot somewhat at the H Bistro. We loved this place on our last visit to Samui 2 or 3 years ago, probably some of the best Thai food we have ever had. We were repeat visitors. On this visit, there's no knocking the portions which are very generous, but the flavours and balance have gone. Run of the mill now, although the peaceful ambience and the very pleasant and efficient service remain the same. Disappointment for us though.

Trying a bit to hard, keep it simple

Fantastic place on the quiet end of Fisherman Village. Friendly staff. We had a pleasant evening, but I felt like they were trying to hard. Imported lobster, Cheese, ham from Spain ( that was a bit sweaty by the time it reached our table) I think this restaurant could benefit from keeping it simple, and maybe work on fusion / thai dishes. Seems that they want to please everyone. The kids loved the pizza however:-) Great winelist ( the prices of course thereafter)
