Good Kumaoni food.

Cafe Chandi mati is perfect for tasting local Kumaoni food, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. It gives a very raw feel by having a unique seating style and it also has outdoor seating which is very calming and beautiful. Food quality and taste was amazing. Service was good although could be much better in terms of promptness. The service felt little slow and not up to the mark because of lack of number of staff. But the hospitality part was always there. Pricing was very decent and good value for money.

This little cafe is setup in the heart of Mukteshwar. It serves really tasty Kumaoni Thali. And not only this, they customised the lunch option for my little one which was just like home made for him. He thoroughly enjoyed being there. I personally enjoyed having my Hibiscus infused ice tea , which was on the menu as the drink of the day. This tastes very good and I recommend it in case you are looking for options close to the nature. If you get seated inside, please be prepared of some house flies though.

Food here is super delicious, especially some mutton dishes and the Khameeri roti. Please is very quaint and has a very different feel. Its better to check the reservation as big travel groups also book this place for lunch or dinner.

Dissapointing

We visited this place based on the reviews it has received but our experience was bad. The place was full but followed no Covid norms. We ordered a banana pie which after consuming half the quantity we saw an hard foreign material in it. On enquiry were told that it was a piece of Garlic skin. It definitely did not look like it so we left it as it is, paid for it and left the place. The beat root kabab were good and so was the coffee.

Authentic kumaoni

Kumaoni food is something to go after, especially the mutton and thali. Try it out if you want to indulge in authentic Pahadi food. Bit on the costlier side but worth a try. Apple jalebi is a must try

Located at Ramgarh Mukteshwar road this quaint cafe has best food and must try when you there. Don’t miss ragi pan cake , Kumaon mutton curry and excellent coffee. Kumaon handicraft shop is three minutes walk from there which is good for same jams and apricot oil. Must try Cafe. Very economical

Awesome place nice location. Today cafe was busy. Ordered kumauni chicken curry, smoke mashroom tikki khameeri roti pudina nimbu pani and south Indian filter coffee halwa everything was so delicious. Definitly recommended!!

Worth a visit..

The food here is really nice and so is the decor. Everything was fresh and some of the local cuisine they prepared was really delicious. I would've given it a 5 if only the service was better. The service unfortunately is slow and that's a bit of a turn off! Food wise, terrific!

The food was excellent and the service prompt. my daughter really loved the butter chicken and chicken tikka and I found the mutton curry utterly delicious. The food is better than any other place in Mukteshwar. A must visit place. I will certainly recommend to all my friends.

Best Kumaoni food near Mukteshwar

Without a doubt, the best restaurant near Mukteshwar. We were in Mukteshwar for a week and were suggested this place. We ended up going three times. Their vegetarian Kumaoni Thaali is the best we had in the area and the filter coffee was amazing. Great ambience with a sunny balcony at the back. Amazing service and staff.

Very poor service

Extremely slow and poor service! They did not seem to have enough staff even though the restaurant was only half full. The staff seemed uninterested in serving us. We had to walk to the desk to get the menus and order our food. No one from the wait staff responded to any of our questions. We were a group of 4. When we asked for water, the waiter came out with 1 glass of water. We asked for 3 more glasses, he again returned with 1 glass and said they didn't have enough glasses (even though the restaurant seemed to be operating at half capacity)

Dirty and unhygienic place. We entered it and quickly walked out. Glanced through the dog-eared menu And found the prices far too high and unreasonable. Veg sandwich for Rs 175/- + tax ? Incidentally, we were there at lunch time but there was not a single customer.

Had read a lot about this cafe. Well the food is nice. I had the Kumaoni Mutton gravy with white rice. Liked it. Unique taste. Very sumptuous helping good enough for 2.

What a nice and finger lickerig food that we all enjoyed today at Chandi maati. It was all exquisite. When in MUKTESHWAR, enjoy the food items of this place. Five stars to it.
