Slightly taken aback when we arrived there is no hotel, a motel maybe but no common parts just two blocks of rooms across the yard, not very inspiring I am afraid. The restaurant was very good and we enjoyed our meal but this place needs to be listed as a restaurant with rooms otherwise people will be disappointed on their... More

Flew into Bologna and went straight to MagnaGallo. Food was delightful as was the service. Amazing pastas and Gnocco Fritto with Prosciutto! We stayed at their hotel that evening too. It was a little noisy being so close to the highway but rooms were well appointed. Being close to the highway also has its perks as we were up and... More

We stayed at Best Western just a mile away from Magnagallo but our GPS had some difficulties to position the place which is at the exit to the Bologna-Milano autostrada. We ate there three evenings in a row. This says it all. Let's start with the Borghelo, a local crepe served several evenings as an entree. The place consists of... More

Judging on the outer appearance alone might be somewhat inappropriate. Its not easy to find the place despite being right on the roundabout of the motorway exit. The ambiance inside is quite welcoming, and food was very nice too. Of course balsamic vinegar is widely used being so close to Modena. Selection of local and national specialties, including sweets. Super!!... More

Early evening dinner saw us find this restaurant located close to the motorway junction, but easy to miss, which would have been a pity. Service was good with an interesting menu of local specialities and Italian classics. Definitely worth seeking out.

We were in a group of 35 people and had a fix menu (35 Euros) including: 3 entrees, 2 primi, 3 secondi and desert. Except for the desert, the food was very very good and in very bog quantitiy. Wine Lambrusco, correct. The only down point is that we remained isolated in a separate room. It looks that the the... More

I need to start by saying the food on offer here is very good, being close to Modena many dishes are themed with balsamic vinegar such as frittata (like an omelette) and the rissotto which I would highly recommend. Prices are reasonable for this level of food and the setting is pleasant - it feels secluded yet is very convenient... More

I was in the hotel (same owner) and i've try the restaurant few days ago. The waiter was personable and professional and he advise us a tipical local dish : tigelle, gnocco fritto, sausages and prosciutto di parma served with a good Lambrusco . Surely to try.. After that we have taste some pasta (maccheroni, ravioli, ecc) and for finish a selection of... More

What a surprise it was to find this Michelin-recommended restaurant in the middle of nowhere, right off an exit from the A22 near Modena. Real Old World charm in a modern park-like setting. Outstanding food. The Argentine fillet in Modena balsamic reduction made a lasting memory on my taste buds. Their take on frites was delicious & the grilled veggies... More
