Ate here on Wed, 4/19/17, great spot. Parking is tight, but that is because it is popular. Red snapper that day was great. Had shrimp, fries, corn bread and plantains. While we were there, fisherman pulled up in his boat, unloaded cooler of fish, filleted them and they were ready to order. You order by weight, they fry it up... More

A few feet away, the old fishing boats sway, and the fish they just brought are filleted for your enjoyment an hour or two later. The seafood and cooking are basic -- nothing fancy, but the down home atmosphere is unmatched. A mariachi. band played to the (mostly local) crowd on our only visit. The cost was minimal, but the... Zeerover (a.k.a. Icky's by locals) is a seafood restaurant run by a local family. The menu is in Papiamento (the language spoken by native Arubans) and English. The menu is simple: Fish, Shrimps, Fries, Plantain, Corn Bread, Onions in Vinegar, Tartar sauce. The fish whatever was caught that day and brought to Icky's dock. The day I was there, we... More

Ok this is a must try. It's fresh fish that's caught the same day, which means whatever is caught that's the menu plus shrimp too. Personally try everything which inc plantains, fries and sliced onions in pickling juice. Everything except the onions is deep fried then dusted in secret house seasoning. Not your KFC here but better! Wash it down with... More

This place is amazing! Period. Hands down. Don't let the dockside decor fool you. Everything is caught daily... the fresh fish and shrimp are absolutely delicious. You won't have anything like it anywhere else on the island. Don't hesitate...go, go, go!!!!! :-0)

After being told by many people to get seafood here I had to go during my short vacation. What's the point to eat somewhere if the food is less then average? Pros: -Location outside the city (peaceful) -Helpful and nice staff -Nice dock (with a pelican you can't miss) -nice looking and tasting coconut ice cream (served in the hard... More

The fishermen bring their catch of the day to this restaurant. Wonderful fresh seafood where the locals dine. Reasonable prices and service was great too. Be in line before 3pm since the line gets very long rather quickly.

Steer clear of this restaurant! The fish and shrimp were over cooked and fried with the heads, tails and shell on. This made for a very messy attempt to eat. The shrimp were over cooked to the point I couldn't peel them. I ended up with a stomach ache after attempting to eat only a few bites of the meal.... More

We heard rave reviews from the locals. It was supposed to be a must go to place on the island. SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! The atmosphere is good - nothing fancy but enjoyed the sunset from the seating on the 'dock'. Not one person was friendly - in fact, someone came around to see if we needed help but basically it... Description
Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.
