aj Vivanta Ranthambore The property is located in Sawai Madhopur well known as the place for tigers . We drove down from Gurugram and had a picturesque journey through Rajasthan. Roads are well laid and highways are good to drive. We have been to other...properties of Taj Vivanta like Fort Aguada Goa, however this was a let down in terms of services and location but thumbs up in terms of food. Property location   - The location of the property is not much to talk about, don’t not expect an outer green area unlike what we witnessed in other properties. We reached at the porch area which is too minimalistic and there is practically no one to receive you unless you get down and report at lounge/ reception area. Then comes the not so Taj like welcome . Knowing the hospitality of Rajasthan specially the welcome, this was quite a shocker. We quickly settle down to fulfil the formalities and offered a welcome drink -tetra pack juice which I personally refused to consume.  When asked for a fresh juice they said it’s not available. Again a shocker for me at a 5 star property. Explore inside Buffet areas - The place has a garden area which is apparently their buffet area too also. Another veranda serves as evening tea area and a buffet area. They kept shifting for a change. bar area - I liked the butch work bar area which was never open, in fact stood as an unattended monument. Hotel claimed to be 100 % sold out and if that was the case this area could have been opened for one of the days since I don’t believe they have much to offer on their property . I asked for a property tour, however after making quite a few calls from intercom  the call was answered on very few occasions. I requested for a tour the next day but waiting for the host who wasn’t there for the late evening walk around the property. However I do admit I was offered for a tour during the time when I was relaxing and requested to rescheduled which somehow didn’t happen. Hence decided to take a self tour . The property though is very minimalist and honestly nothing much to be of Taj standards., as is the service- will talk about more on this . If you are lucky and get a better room the clear view of sun rise and sunset can be enjoyed directly by just be in your rooms. Service - service starts at reception and that was a thumb down as I mentioned earlier. My suggestion is move from tetra packs to fresh juices or complete stop serving  a welcome drink at all since 5 stars property have much higher standards to welcome. In room cleaning - Again a thumbs down and I can expect a reason as in covid we don’t move much stuff around. I would like to quote my experience here that in many other 5 star properties I have witnessed that when the room is cleaned, the trash is completely removed and here the trash was just forced in the bin so that more can be added. Now imagine If you are there for a week. I can give it a skip due to covid protocols however in that case there is question mark on hygiene. There was an open shower area which was facing another building that has a window looking over that area. When I questioned the property manager Tejas about it and said that I am sceptical about it, all he could say is “then don’t use it”. I was also informed that the building is vacant and shut down however I asked many question to Shekhawat who was incharge of housekeeping since Tejas found him to be the most efficient person to manage customer queries. I believe taj must have a customer relationship manger to answer any such concerns specially when a female is questioning particularly for a shower area. This was a very strong disappointment. My only suggestion is even if it’s a vacant property which is told , can’t we ensure that the windows are sealed  to avoid any discomfort. The shower area was my only go to charm however another suggestion is to add a soap tray holder to keep all toiletries there and a hook to hang towel and robes. Now the most non appreciative part is out of 15 times approximately if I have called at the concierge only 50 percent of the times the call was answered. I have to literally stress on sending toiletries. When asked for a bubble bath shampoo they said we don’t have. Never ever have I witnessed this in any 5 start properties. Bath salt and bubble bath toiletries are must have. After all we are here to rejuvenate and relax. Food and food service - i will start with what was fantastic. I strongly appreciate this when it comes to dinner . 5 stars for all non veg items prepared, even the breads were done fresh. However be prepared to walk between meals to fetch your bread or else keep waiting for someone to walk to you . This was later rectified on last day and we really got wonderful service by Babu lal. I relished the breakfast however again don’t expect it to be fancy.  it’s something that I have tried in other 4 star properties too but I must mention whatever came on table was delicious. We are very satisfied with the food experience barring evening tea and the ala carte that we asked for . For the first time ever I have seen that the evening tea is just served with cookies. Even in the 4 star properties I have seen them serving quite a few stuff. After all that’s what experience is all about. Also to mention that the sandwich that we ordered were great however I saw an almost new non existing version of minestrone soup that too after making it very clear about what are they going to add in soup .  the soups all of that I had including the one in dinner were really sorry to taste. They really need to work on their soups specially with winters approaching. The turning down point was a used napkin that was laid on my table which I have to convince them that it was soiled with oil and not water. May I suggest to be more careful with such flukes. I would also like to take an opportunity to share kudos to Robinson who was all ears to hear my concerns and was committed to improve. I will rate this property as below Location and property: 3/5 Food 4.5/5 Service 3/5 Customer overall experience, well all I can say that you can explore more properties here than spending 17.5k per day for this property . A lot to improve here .More

Was there with a group of friends including 6 kids between Oct 23-26 and just loved the place….The huge Suite rooms with two bathrooms is just ideal for families planning to make the early morning safaris in time…😋Kids and us had a blast discovering the...flora of the property where trees and flowers are tastefully curated …Green lawns was just fun time football and running around time with the kids…The food and speed of service for a resort was quite good with the hallmark Taj service and warmth from each and every staff member our group engaged with…Made the kids happy and allowed us parents to just unwind and relax…The swimming pool was a plus… Tejas the ever vigilant GM of the property has stamped his personal touch to the place leading by example and spending a few minutes with all of us..sharing ,enquiring and advising appropriately…Housekeeping was outstanding with Ram Prasad, Ram Kishan and Hanuman catering to all our needs in the rooms..The breakfast, dinner and lunch was made memorable with the willingness of the staff led by Chef Ajay nd Banwari and consisting of a few like Deepak,Om, Parveen, Babulal willing to dish out and accept odd orders from the children and sometimes , the moms😋.It would be unfair if we didn’t highlight the Reception staff Nityanand, Robin and the Security team of Sharif nd Lokendra… They made our morning safari trips complete with attention to lil details like blankets for the kids, ladies and water for all…Plus the constant query and promptness… One of the highlights of our Rajasthan holiday including the Tigeress sighting…A stay in Taj property especially with the huge space that the property is located in and closer to the city…Must for families…to enjoy the inimitable Taj treatment.More

We were a large group of friends from across the county visiting Ranthambore on a vacation. While we were dispersed across various properties due to the heavy rush during the vacation period and not managing to get booking in the same resort, many of our...evening get togethers were at the Taj Vivanta property. Service by the staff was absolutely fantastic, food was good and especially the Kebabs were lip-smacking awesome and we all enjoyed the gala dinner party put together by the staff at Vivanta who made our evening truly special far away from home during Durga Puja.More

Service is extremely slow and lousy. It will take them 45-60 minutes to serve you. You can ask them for water and wait for 30 minutes , after that you will walk up to the reception and remind them and then it will take 15...more minutes. This is the story for any and everything that you order while sitting at their lounge ! Now imagine if you dare to order from in-room dining - god be with you in your test of patience. The chef is nice and accommodating. If you have a baby or any other special need , Sanjeev will ensure they are met with a smile . He’s the reason this hotel is getting any star from me. The rooms have old furniture, somewhat cramped, And there is a musty smell that of damp curtains and carpet . The bathrooms are grand ! The fun part is that they leave their buggys’ around, so if you are sneaky, you can hop in it and start driving around the property. For the timid, there are always bikes on campus to get around. Unfortunately you don’t have too many options in Ranthambore so if you don’t want to spend at Oberoi or Amann, this might just be your necessary evil. Tiger spotted!! So kind of worth it. That’s all folksMore

Taj SawaiMadhopur has become my go to place whenever I visit Ranthambore. From our welcome till departure the stay was made super comfortable in this pandemic times. I would like to especially thank Mr Robinson for taking care of all our requirements. His eye for...detail & guest comfort seems exceptional. At times when i travel solo, Mr Robinson & his staff makes sure that I am well advised about the area demographics etc & taken care of in best possible ways. Every single time the chef & the waiters make sure that i have a delightful meal. Knowing that i am allergic to chilli, they cook the most delicious lal maas with black pepper especially for me. And their dal batees are the softest ive ever had in my entire life of having travelled in Rajasthan. Looking forward always to my next visit.More
