Excellent location but nothing else! More like a greasy spoon cafe with disinterested waitresses and chips cooked in rancid fat! Totally spoilt our day out! Apparently the locals never recommend it, but sadly we didn't ask our hosts before we went out for the day!

After walking round Framlingham Castle in the cold, this was ideally located just outside for drink and bite to eat. Nice local ales and nice selection of food. Cosy atmosphere.

The Castle Inn is situated in a lovely spot at the entrance to Framlingham Castle. Unfortunately, however, the location is the only good thing about this pub. Upon visiting Framlingham Castle on a Sunday we were pleasantly surprised to find what, on the outside, looked like a nice country pub offering a traditional roast lunch. We ordered our roasts (one... More

We stopped off at the castle after cycling to Framlingham and came away pretty disappointed. I ordered a roast lamb, and the waitress said that she thought there was only a couple of portions left but she would check and let us know if it was all out, we also ordered a beef roast and a latte and we're told... I didn't expect much but what I got was incredibly disappointing after waiting an extra 30 minutes my below average chicken burger arrived the burger itself wasn't too bad but the chips where simply awful they came cold and were bland . The pub itself was just concrete and not very inviting

Dropped in for a bite to eat after a walk around the castle and trail, very classic little pub with just enough drinks for the size of the place and lovely outside areas front and back. Had a homemade sausage roll which was beautiful and the other half had sandwiches and chips. They were more like thin fries where i... More

Thats it.. just average..... staff were ok.... not overly chatty or welcoming. Ambience, ok.... place lacks real atmosphere. Food, we just had sandwiches and they were just ok... salad on the side had seen better days but all in all just ok.

Coming to Framlingham for a concert in the church, popped in here for a quick bite, situated next to the castle, pub was busy and had a friendly welcome, food as average fair, nothing to write home about, filled a hole, place was clean and tidy. Good place to wash down the dust after visiting the medieval castle. Incidentally recently... More

This was the worst food i have eaten in years. Tasted like value frozen mircowave meals. I have literately not even had an actual mircowave meal as tasteless and lacking as what we were served. I would definately not eat here again. The pub looks nice from the outside, but its quite dull and tired inside. I don't think this... More

This is a lovely pub with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. However the food that we chose was disappointing, especially the chicken goujons which were really quite tasteless. The sandwiches delivered to the table next to us looked better.

Thank you for your comments and we are glad you liked our pub. Your observation regarding our chicken goujons is spot on, chicken by it's nature is quite bland that is why we serve the goujons with sweet chilly sauce for those who want a more lively taste. They are also a starter hence the size and price of the... More
