Great food, has a lot of options, for the whole family (vegetarian, children...) The staff were very nice! We had such a good time we came two nights in a row! Very recommended

For the braver western traveller, this is an eye opener. Constantly busy (only taking bookings for 6pm or 6.30pm sitting), it has well priced drinks (no high-brow stuff) and many small sharing plates. Kids loved the chicken yakitori skewers. The pork-gut soup was exactly as...expected; the thinly sliced horse meat sashimi was suprisingly mild of flavour, to be accompanied by a horseradish or garlic kick. The usual suspects of ramen (sold out last night), udon, and grilled rice ball were present for the faint-hearted. For vegetarians, then grilled mushrooms were juicy, and there were 4-5 different tofu dishes including plump agadeshi tofu. Daily specials of grilled fish and sashimi changed frequently. Definitely recommend if you want some great izakaya food. Make sure you book as we couldn’t get in the first time we tried without a booking. There are quite a few vegetarian options (as long as you like mushrooms, which I don’t!). I can’t remember...if they take credit card so best to be prepared to pay cash.More

This restaurant is located at the basement of the street and offers some great traditional Japanese food. We enjoyed sitting at the stools watching our food being prepared and organised in front of us. We had the yakitori, karaage, edamame and cold soba dish. All...was very good food washed down with Kirin draft beer. Definitely worth checking out if you’re staying in the area.More

We were a group of six and everything we ordered was very good. The menu has clear descriptions of the dishes and is fairly broad. There was a nice selection of sashimi. I had tuna and it was delicious.

This place was crazy! Firstly I didn’t even know it was there - down stairs and underneath a building. The big queue outside in the cold was the first sign of how good it was going to be. Once inside our booking for 7 was...‘double booked’ and we had to wait a while for our table to be put together. Ther was lots of to-ing and fro-ing with the waiter and boss/chef. However - worth the wait. We did have to sit on the floor which was a challenge for our backs. The food was FANTASTIC! Grilled mackerel, and tofu steaks were a stand-out. The vegans and the gluten-free diners in our group were well catered for (although there were bonito flakes on the tofu steak!). WE loved it and will try to get in again during our stay.More
