Open to the public and I have never seen a restaurant in a golf centre as busy as this one. Packed and really good.

If you wish large portions of very good food at a reasonable price, this is the place to come. My husband and I went with another couple for a birthday lunch. Our friend selected rump steak for a treat, as it was his birthday and said that it was superb. He really enjoyed it. It came with all the trimmings of onion rings, mushrooms, tomatoes, salad and chips. An optional sauce was extra. It was only £14.99 as a special. Apparently it is also served at steak nights on Thursdays for only £12.99 and is very popular. Our friend has been several times and has raved about it being so good. I had steak pie which was also very good. It was served with chips and veg. The steak pie was served in an individual dish with loads of meat and a pastry on top. I believe there had been a choice of potatoes or chips. I did not ask for a preference and was served chips. Possibly I should have asked for potatoes to accompany steak pie. However, the chips were very crisp and tasty. My husband had salmon with new potatoes and salad and said it was very good. When we arrived we eyed up lemon meringue pie. We questioned if we would have enough room for some! The lemon meringue pie was delicious. They were generous portion served with ice-cream, cream and a strawberry and blueberries for decoration. My husband had the hot chocolate fudge cake which he said was excellent. The dining room was in a sun-room overlooking the golf course and surrounding hills. It was positioned next to the bar and an area displaying golf trophies in display cabinets. Next to it was a marquee apparently used for a Sunday Carvery and other functions. Very good value for money. Recommend.

Reasonable priced until you all want steak, soon rack up the bill with drinks, abidance could be loads better ..
Waitress dropped a dirty knife on and stained the back of my shiry, oh sorry she said and gave me a napkin which spread the food, and never offered me any kind of compensation. Kind of laughed it off, So SADLY I CANT GO BACK as having been in the food trade know how to treat customers and would at least offer them a free meal in the future, had to bin my Ben Sherman shirt as stain no come out sadly.

Steak night tonight, which we attend regularly. From being greeted and taken to table, to drinks and food order being taken, the staff are so attentive and very professional and helpful. We all have our steaks cooked different and every time they are always cooked to perfection 😍 the presentation of the desserts are fab. Thank you, yet again, for an awesome meal and we will be back again soon 😊

Visited last sunday. Couldn't really wait as they finally decided to restart their amazing carvery, so after 10 months of waiting (yes, 10 moths ago they had it last time) we were rushing to book our table for sunday lunch and OMG! What a brilliant decission it was. Carvery as great as it always was. Selection of beef, turkey and gammon, as always, cooked perfectly. Great selection of veg too. Also they managed to comply very well with all this covid regulations too. Restricted number of people in the carvery unit, hand sanitisers all over the place and carvery meat and veg served by member of staff. Well.. Hope they will keep doing it every Sunday as they used to. It's allways handy to have is "just behind the corner"

Having been here many times over the years and always had great food and great service you can imagine how disappointed we were to have such an awful experience.
Restaurant wasn’t even busy yet tables were dirty with only 4 other tables with 3 staff on duty yet it took 30 minutes to get our cold soup brought to the table!
Man course followed within 5 minutes of the starter which the food was barely mediocre.
Chicken fajitas - hard dry tortillas with unseasoned chicken!
Haddock and chips - crispy on the outside gooey on the inside!
On a positive note, hats off to the chef he opens a mean tin of peas and fry’s a good portion of frozen chips!
£5 for cold soup and £16 for less than mediocre main courses let to a very over priced under flavoured experience!
Certainly looks like a case of “all the gear and no idea!”

Been here many times before for lunches, dinners and carveries and it’s always been very good but tonight my wife and I had a different experience. Waiter stood over our table impatiently even though I’d told him I hadn’t yet decided. Had Stornaway black pudding starter I’ve had a few times before but today it was overcooked, had lasagne as a main which was no better than bland frozen microwaved rubbish, even though I’d left more than half the waitress never asked if anything was wrong. I told her I wasn’t happy but she wasn’t remotely interested. Was always one of my favourite places but after today’s visit 25/08/20 I don’t know if I’ll be back. Terrible food and worse service.

I love coming here and have never had a bad meal apart from the 31st December. I don’t know if it was a different chef but this is the first ever bad meal we have had the macaroni was oily and the steak pie was swimming in water and caramelised onion was served with the steak pie which was an odd one. Kept forgetting to bring some of our orders out. The waitress young girl was also very rude and got the impression she could not be bothered. Such a shame as I love this place so much hope it reverts back to the usual. Will wait a few months and try again.

We were invited to the Strathmore by friends who live locally. We were told it was an amazing carvery, but it has to be seen to be believed. It’s amazing. The meat choice was turkey, beef or gammon. I chose the beef and it was cooked to perfection. Choosing from FOURTEEN different vegetables meant walking back with a plate piled high but it was so good!

I have been here a few times now the first time I had the steak which was very very nice cooked to perfection.
I was told at the time to have the carvery.
So I had the carvery the next few times and I have never looked back
Outstanding choice of meats, stuffing Yorkshire puddings all there choice of two gravies and huge selection of vegetables with excellent roast potatoes
This is a must if you are in area on Sunday for a roast/carvery.

Meal was lovely. Waitress service was not upto standard. I saw a young waitress wipe food debris onto the floor. Lots of large food items. When I approached the waitress to ask why she did this , she said it’ll get Hoovered later . I then mentioned people will tread in it. Her reply was , I’ll Hoover it soon . Disgusting to see food wiped onto the floor . Restaurant was busy , not packed.
Standard of care wasn’t there that day .

Visited the restaurant last night. I have never seen the restaurant as busy. Every table taken plus a golf outing in the marquee next door. All four of us had great dining experience and the staff as usual were wonderful and really added to the dining experience. How they manage to cope with the numbers and still produce a wide range of food is amazing and all credit to the chef and his staff as well. Well done to all at Strathmore Golf Centre. We will be back again.

Popped here for dinner as a recommended place. Had a nice and relatively cheap dinner for a family of four. Food was standard English fare but all cooked on site rather than reheated like some other places. Felt a bit parochial if anything.

We visited this lovely restaurant on our wedding anniversary , accompanied by our teenage son ater he finished two long rounds of golf . This was our first visit and everything was top drawer . The food was beautifully cooked by Peter and presented perfectly . Fiona our server was charming with a most helpful and professional approach to all the guests . We will certainly return to this beautiful , most welcoming Golf Club and Restaurant and highly recommend a visit .

We were a party of 24 for a pre booked lunch. It was excellent. Most of us had the carvery but a few chose from the menu and we had couple of veggies in the group. Without exception, everyone said they’d an excellent meal. The waitresses although very busy were superb - very efficient and professional. Indeed they told the carvery people to go back for more as often as they wished! The desserts were great and we had quite a variety between us. One of our party said that the carvery was the best she had tasted in her life - ever. I can’t think of higher praise. Would definitely recommend this place!

We have been many times - most recently being New Years Day 2023 and it didn't disappoint. Our party (5 adults) all opted for the carvery. Honestly the best carvery by a country mile. The roast beef just melts in the mouth. Can't wait to come back.
