THE TALBOT INN Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Teme Valley is The Talbot Inn, in the village of Newnham Bridge. Combining eclectic and contemporary-rustic style, it provides the perfect environment to eat, drink and sleep. In 2019, we took on the lease of The Talbot Inn. Since then, the property has been given a thorough make over, we have hired a new Chef, and we have been sourcing local and seasonal food for our new menu. We have also revamped our seven comfortable bedrooms location You can find us based at the corner of the A456, in the village of Newnham Bridge, which is the ideal base for visiting the cities of Worcester and Hereford, and just a little further the spectacular Malvern

I stayed in the area for a few days and visited the Talbot Inn twice in the afternoon. They serve food until 2:30 pm which worked for me, and they have a very fast wifi and plugs, so I could work there for a couple...of hours whilst having lunch. I had a lovely BLT sandwich with yummy french fries on the first visit, and the juiciest, most delicious burger (for a tenner!) on my second visit. The staff was friendly and charming. If you're passing by, this place is definitely worth a stop.More

Very rarely leave feedback unless it is very good or very bad this was very GOOD We have just come back from what was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The girl who looked after us throughout our meal was exceptional as was the quality of the...food. I had the beetroot and blue cheese salad and my wife had the pate both were very good and beautifully presented For my main I decided to choose the pheasant curry pie which was a risky choice but again was a really good choice My wife decided to try something different and went for the fagots which were rich and gamey but again very good and served with buttery mash and peas Portions are hearty so we couldn’t finish our plates but it was all polished of with. Good quality red wine which the girl apologised for not coming out quickly but she had been trying to bring it up to room temperature due to coming from the cellar. There’s service Highly recommended Karl and JuliaMore

We arrived early but as we were expected Leanne was ready for us and after a warm welcome showed us to our room- this was a bright room with a large very clean bathroom equipped with a bath walk-in shower and lots of fluffy white...towels.We had a drink in the bar and armed with a jug of fresh milk returned to our room. At just before 7 o’clock we settled next to the roaring fire and enjoyed an excellent two course meal hot tasty and served with a smile. In the morning we had a lovely breakfast top quality ingredients well cooked and again served with a smile. This was our fourth visit here and it certainly won’t be our last. Thank you to all staff but especially Megan for the napkin cracker- she obviously took notice of my husbands tutorial!More

Had a very disappointing sunday lunch. I had the roast rump beef and looked as if it had been cooked ok but very dry when it got to the table as if it had spent too much time under the food holder and my pint...tasted like the line hasn't been cleaned in a while. Staff seemed very complacent instead of friendly. Save your money. I will not be returningMore

The people were wonderful, friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent. The room was extremely large, comfortable and clean. The bed was great and we had a fantastic nights sleep. Prices were very good value, both to stay and eat.

I've tried the talbot inn for dinner a few times over the past 6 months I found that the staff was friendly even though it took alot to get their attention. Manager/owner seems very blunt speaking and can come off rude I'm sure it's not...intentional. Food is on par with your local wetherspoons with a fancy twist and added price. The last time I visited I had their beef burger it was ok but dry. I have noticed new cooks and new staff over the year and atmosphere seems to be the same everytime if they wish to turn a profit the need they need to address their real issue. If your looking for a good atmosphere and good food would recommend any pub in the tenbury wlls areaMore

After a difficult start to its new tenure, an old face has reappeared in the kitchen of the Talbot, finally dispelling the disappointment of the previous chefs working for the new management this year. The Sunday carvery is (thankfully) no more and we are back...to an excellent a la carte menu. Sam is head and shoulders above the last couple of chefs and yesterday was the first great meal we’ve had at the Talbot this year. The service still needs a few tweaks but the more support they get - and hence more money they have to invest in staffing! - the better this will become. Not that it is bad, they are just a little understaffed if it gets busy. The Talbot is a bit out of the way for many, Newnham is too small a community to support a ‘drinking pub’, and diners could get ‘average food’ nearer to home, so the only way the Talbot is going to succeed is to be a destination worth driving to. After a shaky start 2019, it is finally back on the path to that status. Definitely worth a visit.More

Booked to eat here as good location to meet friends. We’d not been since it changed hands and it was a very pleasant surprise to find it still cosy, warm, inviting and with a nice atmosphere. The staff were all friendly and professional. We were...most impressed, however, with the way my friend was treated. On booking I was asked if anyone had any dietary requirements so I mentioned dairy and gluten allergies. When she handed out the menus the waitress described the dishes which could be adapted ...which was most of them! We were all impressed with the menu and the dishes we selected were delicious and reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be back!More

Called in on a Saturday for lunch. Good range of beer and nice lunch menu. Was surprisingly empty but looked to have a good evening menu and lots of tables.

Dogs are welcome in the bar, there are only 4 tables in the bar so booking is advisable. There are even dog biscuits in a jar on the bar! 3 of the bedrooms are also dog friendly.
