Super lunch stop on our walk from Lynmouth, perfect distance/time on our walk. The menu had a good selection of food and the bar served some lovely local ales. We continued our walk, stopping at St John's church opposite, completely refreshed. The pub welcomed us with our muddy boots and children!!

I am really disappointed at the attitude of the Bar staff and Management. We had a meal on Saturday evening, parking our car in the pub Car Park opposite. It was very dark! The following afternoon on returning home i noticed damage to our car (which purely by chance could not have been sustained whilst parked elsewhere in the interim)... More

We walked here from Lynton, so had worked up a good appetite for the ploughmans lunch. A good range of fresh ingredients and about three times as much cheese as I could ever normally contemplate eating in one sitting. Would certainly recommend this menu choice, coupled with the great service and a building full of old world charm.

Really relaxed atmosphere and warm welcome for a family lunch away from the windswept moor. Good choice of food included vegetarian curry and a children's menu. Three ciders as well as selection of beers and wine.

Popped in today for food, wow! What a wonderful place. The pub was warm, cosy and had an amazing Christmassy feel. The staff were friendly and showed affection to our dog. The environment was cosy and warm. The food was OUTSTANDING and very well priced. You couldn't ask more from a pub, a hidden gem!

Popped in for lunch today. Very welcoming staff who loved dogs and there were plenty who were there with their owners who had been enjoying the scenery and walks. The food was quick to arrive. Very well cooked and extremely tasty. Thanks to everyone who works there.

Four of us stayed here for 1 night (wife, me and our 2 dogs) as we were house viewing nearby. Each member of the staff were delightfully friendly and helpful. The room we had was clean and practical and there is great access over the road to leg stretch the dogs. Our evening meal was just the ticket, good generous... More

On a crisp sunny December afternoon we called for coffee. Fires burning creating a nice atmosphere. Very welcoming staff. Any variety of coffee available and delicious. What a difference from our experience earlier in the day ay Lynmouth.

It would be so easy to have a main course vegetarian option kept in the freezer to go with the roast...this is 2016 folks, and you do get other visitors from people outside of the area.Numerous options...instead NOTHING.. the roast was offered without meat, for just a £1 off,great...and hence no protein!! Apart from that everything great, made welcome.
