All reviews steak pie sticky toffee pudding baked alaska haggis bon bons salad golf club sunday lunch golf course stir fry attentive staff family meal gluten free menu lovely setting piping hot lovely meal first class booked a table
Visited 06.09.21 for the (me for the first time) with my friends who run another Golf Club Restaurant and Bar.
Very impressed with the extensive menu and midweek offer.
I started with Pate which was delicious and such a nice sizable portion
Then the macaroni...cheese which was flavoursome, moist and cheesy
Finished with the raspberry cranachan - lovely Scottish dessert in a glass
The wine was well priced and having asked for ice in my Chardonnay (yes, I know it's weird), I didn't have to ask again - they remembered my preference
The ambience and décor was fitting for the establishment - looked freshly done.
What myself and my friends appreciated the most was the friendly, genuine, 5* service from all the staff. You can equip employees with the skills - but it's very hard to instil genuine hospitality and passion for the role.
A MEGA shout out to the wonderful Morgan - who not only came across as friendly, professional and a pleasure to be served by - BUT - after waiting over 50 minutes for our no-show taxi - she even drove us all home to Livingston at the end of her shift. An absolute star and definitely a keeper! (If we don't poach her! Joking! #notjoking)
A memorable experience and you definitely have new loyal customers in us.More
It was the final night of our holiday so we looked for somewhere local to us to eat (literally 5 mins walk), I wish we had found this place sooner as it was the best eating out experience of our holiday. Food was exceptional as...was the service, there were 2 large parties in so there was a bit of a wait but that was fine, the staff were friendly and attentive. I was a chef for 27 yrs and I wish the resturants I had worked in were as good as this.More
As you can see from past reviews and indeed here at Bistro19 i consider myself to be fair so no joy in saying our trip today to Bistro19 was uninspiring. I always say same when eateries get quite popular...they rest on their laurels, take foot...off pedal. The environment and staff first class, staff all great and friendly, the dishes whilst not cheap were ordinary now and I say now because some time ago the food was of a better quality and standard. Tonight I got Prawn Cocktail starter and its went downhill, standard of seafood very poor was more like small shrimps on salad that was leafy with little invention and on the side a partially pre-buttered slice of white pan bread! That is not acceptable. The salad invention was uninspiring. Most dissappointing ofcourse was tp pass those small shrimps as Prawns of ANY decency. Sunday Roast was had by me, was ok wouldnt say the meat was overly plentifull nor piping hot and the Yorkshire pudding was also not warm. Children got Burger from Adult menu, not convinced it was a great standard of burger.... nor handmade. Other son got steak pie which was ok. Produce lapses will destroy reps in my opinion. Like I say ... .. . It was OK, Not buttons so will have my say.... menu produce and culinary invention has lapsed a tad.More
Good menu choice, excellent service, comfortable surroundings, free sweet or starter with midweek lunches, and delicious food.
If I have any complaint then it is that the portions were enormous for my appetite but even here the "doggy" (you must be joking) bag fed me...the next day!More
I have driven past Bistro19 Harburn on numerous occasions and after hearing great reviews from my colleagues, I decided to book lunch.
I arrived with my husband and we were immediately impressed by the lovely surroundings. We were promptly taken to our table and received...excellent service throughout.
My husband had haggis bon bons and I had vegetable pakora for starters which were lovely and fresh. We both chose the battered haddock which was delicious and plentiful. Unfortunately we had no room let for dessert but the menu looked very tempting
I am eager to return with my girls very soon. The staff were professional, polite and friendly. The restaurant is very clean and spacious, a very pleasant place to dine.More
Fantastic home cooked meals, been lots of times now and we are never disappointed. Great service and good value for money. Had the haggis burger this time which was beautiful with lovely hand cut fat chips and coleslaw.
Would definitely recommend
Friends had previously recommended bistro19 and having a brilliant time we decided to book ! We were not disappointed ! Layout was spacious and elegant. Staff were amazing, enthusiastic, friendly and informative. Nothing was too much trouble.....and the food was SUPERB ! Menu was varied...with something for everyone to enjoy. For starters, we recommend the piri piri prawns , black pudding and chorizo salad and the haggis bon bons. My husband has fillet steak stir fry, I had chicken fajitas and friends has fillet steak Dianne and chicken Dianne . There were absolutely no complaints....... Fortunately, we had a space for pudding, sticky toffee was a big hit along with the baked Alaska. Every course was first class. The bill was very reasonably priced ! Definetly be back and will thoroughly recommend to all our friends! 5stars.More

Didn’t think much when turned up at the golf club on a Tuesday afternoon but glad we didn’t go on first impressions. Lovely decor inside the restaurant. Staff where incredibly professional friendly and attentive a real credit. But the main attraction was the food which...was absolutely amazing especially the desert hands down the best baked Alaska I have ever had! Not to mention the buy a main get a dessert free weekday lunch deal made it very economical. Although we don’t live anywhere near me and my fiancée already thinking up excuses to go back!More
