Went with a group for dinner & the food was beautifully presented. The chef went out of his way to prepare vegan food for some of our group - and even prepared a very beautiful fruit salad since all the desserts contained dairy products. Unfortunately...More

Stopped here spontaneously on our way from Blenheim to Greymouth. And we were completely surprised: a great Caesar Sandwich, a delicious soup of the day, excellent coffee, very friendly and efficient service. This cafe is a real recommendation!

We first happened upon this place when we visited The Lakes with friends who were staying with us. It was a cold, bright and frosty day - beautiful. And it was lovely for us to find the Clinker Café open and welcoming for lunch. The...More

Referring to the response from the owner of Clinkers Cafe, the group were not advised that the kitchen was closed and were therefore unaware that the chef needed to be persuaded to reheat grills etc. In fact, as soon as we walked in and asked...More

Have been here several times now! The food is always so wholesome and delicious, well thought out and locally sourced - which I really appreciate. The sweet treats in the cabinet are incredible - and super interesting! Lovely lovely!

There was snow on the ground outside and a warm welcome inside! Our lunch was delicious - I had the barley beetroot spinach risotto and Steve had chicken with a lovely selection of vegetables. Coffee was good and strong too.

As usual, the coffee stop at The Clinker Cafe was worth it. Service was top notch. Coffee (long black) was the right temp and hit the spot.

Here at Clinker Café we believe in making everything ourselves - from the bacon right down to the pesto. We know exactly what has gone into every element of a dish. There are no packets in our pantry, no ready made product, no frozen meals. Every dish has been created from the heart and soul, flavours born to be together mingle in peace and harmony. Our food is not fast food. It is vibrant, healthy, simple food done well, and takes time to prepare. We believe eating out should be an experience, food should look amazing, smell amazing and taste amazing. Good food, like great cheese, should not be rushed - anticipation is part of the fun...
