The place was new and smart and clean. The woman behind the counter was a bit inappropriate in calling us "lovey" and "darling" and the range of food was not what we were looking for but we opted for the soup and were well satisfied with it. It was a shame the bread that accompanied it was a couple of... More

Eaten here three times now, every time great food and top service. It is so good to have a quality cafe/restaurant in the area. Using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients their dishes really hit the spot. Top marks to Angelina and Sebastien.

It's lucky to have such a little gem of a cafe in a tiny town. We went there for dinner last Saturday night (I think it might only open one or two evenings a week for dinner) and it was gorgeous. The service was excellent, and the food was high quality. We had three courses and while all were good,... More

We had a lovely welcome here when we pulled up here for lunch... selection from the cabinet was great & we enjoyed our food. I ordered an Iced coffee which was only average with no cream on top. A little disappointing for me.

I had the smoked prawn flatbread and my wife has the pulled pork sandwich. Both were excellent, way better than we were expecting from a random roadside cafe. If you're passing then it's well worth stopping in.

This licensed restaurant tries hard in this small village. The owners are friendly and hospitable . The food is interesting and tasty. They are open for breakfast , lunch, coffee and tea . They offer dinner to the general public currently only on Saturday .

Had lunch here on a recent visit to Nelson Lakes NP. Everything is homemade on site, even the breads, and quality, flavours, and presentation were first-class. Burger of goatmeat with a cucumber/yoghurt dressing was great. Looking forward to next visit.

We went for a late breakfast but had to settle for the lunch menu as we were too late (11.30). However that didn't turn out to be a problem, as we found several interesting dishes on the menu to turn it into brunch. The food was all delicious, and the coffee was very good. There was also a decent selection... More

Description
Here at Clinker Café we believe in making everything ourselves - from the bacon right down to the pesto. We know exactly what has gone into every element of a dish. There are no packets in our pantry, no readymade product, no frozen meals. Every dish has been created from the heart and soul, flavours born to be together mingle in peace and harmony. Our food is not fast food. It is vibrant, healthy, simple food done well, and takes time to prepare. We believe eating out should be an experience, food should look amazing, smell amazing and taste amazing. Good food, like great cheese, should not be rushed - anticipation is part of the fun... We serve Breakfast and Lunch, and Dinner can be arranged on certain days with a booking - please call to discuss.
