Verveine is both a traditional village fishmonger and a fine dining restaurant that specialises in fresh fish and shellfish that are caught in the UK shores. We are a multi award-winning restaurant with the accolades of 'best restaurant' and 'chef of the year' for 2011, 'chef of the year', 'best local menu' and 'best customer service' 2012 by Hampshire Life magazine.
We were lucky enough to stumble across this truly amazing fish restaurant 20 mins before it closed its lunch service. I was with my wife and 2 kids (9 and 11). Beautifully accomodating, to put it simply this place knows how to cook fish and...More
I’m not sure where to begin in writing about Verveine. Should it be the cheerful atmosphere, the outstanding service, the aesthetic appearance of each dish, the layers of flavour that started at the beginning and didn’t stop until the end.... or even our own lovely...More
I am sure other reviews say the same thing. Really must go here if you like fish and like quality restaurant food. Nice little touches with amuse-bouche even at lunch. Very reasonable for the standard of food- beautifully presented and very tasty. We just turned...More
We had the tree course menu. Wow! Amazing, beautifully presented, perfectly cooked dishes. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. They very proudly explained each dish. We will be back, but next time we will choose more courses, so we can enjoy...More
Exceptional quality food, imaginative and tasty, and nicely presented. The service is excellent and the ambience warm and friendly.
Portions aren’t huge so, if you have a good appetite, go for the 4 course or the 6 course tasting menu. You won’t be disappointed.

Visited for lunch and ordered the 6 course tasting menu, every dish was inventive, delicious and beautifully presented. Service was relaxed, informative, friendly and efficient.
If you love food it is somewhere not to be missed.
We were stunned to find a restaurant of such amazing quality in such a small town. Had the tasting menu at lunchtime. I don’t think you could get better value for £31 anywhere. Each course was a delight and some unusual flavour combinations have given...More
Our small (4) party feasted on 10 courses, with wine to match- just heaven.
Every course was incredible, and amusing. Such fanstic imagination and food that is delicious and interesting.
Thank you, we had a perfect afternoon with you. And have an excuse to visit...More
