After not dining at The George for quite some time I was worried that it would not be as good as it once was, especially after recent reviews being a bit mixed. Well, quite frankly, I’m not sure whether the negative reviews visited the same...More

I really hope that our experience on our last visit to The George was just a blip as we have been regular diners here and consider it a great asset to the area as well as a brilliant effort in saving the village pub. On...More

Was passing through Arundle when saw a sign for The George, 2 miles. Must have been country miles as a lot further than that. Dog friendly, but alas, no biscuits. Haddock and Chips, that the wife had, went down very well. My Chicken and Leek...More

Visited for Sunday lunch with friends. Ample parking a short walk away. A great welcome by all the staff and comfortable seating within the restaurant areas. It was busy, which I always think is a great sign but the staff could not have been more...More

So, our visit to The George at Burpham. Where do I begin? My partner and I had booked a table for two on Friday 20th July 2018, one week prior to our arrival on Friday 27th July 2018, at 7pm. Only, on the day of...More

Sadly we do not have a gluten free menu. Currently we serve gluten free bread & a number of gluten free puddings but are not set up to meet the gluten free requirements your wife needs.

Description
This unique 17th century Inn houses a wonderful British restaurant and pub. You'll find it at the heart of the delightful Sussex village of Burpham, just 4 km from historic Arundel, surrounded by the glorious South Downs National Park. The menus are classic “best of British” food with a modern twist. Everything is home cooked with the freshest seasonal ingredients, locally sourced where possible. That means the specials menu changes all the time, so your tastebuds will always be delighted. Open for lunch 12-2 or 12-3 weekends, and from 6pm for dinner. Great wine menu and local Real Ale. This is a very family friendly place; well-behaved dogs are welcome to sit under the table in the pub area whilst you dine. Groups, weddings and private parties love it here and come back year after year. Bookings are recommended especially for Sunday lunch as it's always very busy.
