We went as a family for a meal at Oscars on 25.11.16. We have been here may be 8 or 10 times over the last 15 years so are well placed to compare experiences. In the past we have had some really memorable meals here. As always the staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurant is clean and tidy... More

Starter was ok - duck pate, but only 1 piece of toast and some lettuce came with it. Not at all appetising to look at. Duck as the main course was absolutely delicious - 5 of us chose it and we all enjoyed it. Why no bowl of vegetables? Just a couple of carrots hiding under the meat. Disappointed in... More

This brasserie is attached to Rossett Hall Hotel where we stayed for a night while driving from Edinburgh to London. It is a big place, with friendly staff, and great food. We had the set menu - three courses including wine for £22 each. The food was tasty, portions were a normal size, and all in all a good way... More

We went with friends for a meal here on Saturday night on the recommendation of some other friends. We will not be taking their recommendations again. Apparently the restaurant has been recently refurbished or so we were told. If that is so its been done on the cheap. The place lacks atmosphere not helped by the fact that on Saturday... More

we enjoyed a very different kind of meal, always like to try something new. fantastic. the staff were friendly and tentative to all. we spoke with some locals who said they preferred to drink there because it was cheaper than the pubs. we also enjoyed our breakfast there as we stayed the night in the hotel. we were surprised to... Food nice but not enough selection on the menu to dine if staying in the Rossett Hall. Not cheap either but staff professional and friendly and could assist and more than they do.

We had an evening meal, on 2 nights, included in our 4 night stay booked through Superbreaks. Once would have been more than enough. We found the menu limited and overpriced. The mains we had were average. The pastry on the lemon tart was close to stale. The tart filling and accompanying raspberry sorbet were very nice. The toffee pudding... More

I was staying in the hotel and the brasserie/restaurant is next to it so I thought I give it a try. Nothing stands out to say a good word about it. Everything was bad. My water glass wherever I placed it on the table was sticking to it. I order a double beef burger and in my Surprise it was... More

Friendly and speedy service on a Friday night with the restaurant about one third full. The food was fine, large portions (a bit too large really) and perfectly adequate if not memorable.

Good choice of evening meals and staff were flexible and accommodating with specific requirements. And a fine hearty breakfast!

Description
Relaxed but special, Oscars Restaurant is located within the beautiful Rossett Hall Hotel in Rossett, an attractive countryside village just outside of Wrexham. Wide ranging menus give Oscars all day appeal, the international a la carte choices including not only deliciously creative but unpretentious dishes from all over the world but hearty, cooked to perfection grills, while the Table d'hte menu offers a more local flavour. Less formal options include the kitchens casual light bites and sandwiches, not to mention the family friendly Sunday roast which is well worth the journey from Wrexham or even Chester. Surroundings here at Oscars are casual but attractive, muted tones giving a contemporary feel to the traditional building. Al fresco dining may be enjoyed out on the patio, looking back towards the historic Hall with its ivy covered walls or out over manicured lawns and colourful planting, equally a beautiful spot for relaxing morning coffee or indulgent afternoon teas.
