Had my worst ever chicken club sandwich at Owens on Sunday. No - chicken. Just a mess of mayonaise on the bottom layer, two rashers of bacon, three slices of bog standard toasted medium slice white bread (not even toasty loaf) , a soggy piece...of lettuce and a fried egg. Accompanied by 5 chips and a little coleslaw and tiny garnish. Lousy value for £10.50. And it was no fluke - my daughter ordered and was served exactly the same poor excuse for a club sandwich. Owens is a very popular local restaurant and I have enjoyed some good meals here, but they need to check their quality standards. The menu lists this as a triple-decker chicken club sandwich, but it was actually a triple disappointment. Take this off the menu or include some chicken!More

Stumbled across Owens. First ever visit. It was absolutely gorgeous. The service was absolutely first class as was the food (all three courses!). I just loved everything about the place. The decor, the ambience, the team (all professional, smiley, very happy to help). Food was...fantastic. Had mushroom Stilton starter with bacon (divine) and black pudding. We had lighter lunch option (which was substantial) and also amazing - chicken with rice and asparagus in lovely sauce and the pie of the day special. Then we had a sharing plate of deserts as there were too many lovely ones to choose from. We landed with no booking but were accommodated with no problem. Dog friendly and even she was offered water on arrival! And as many dog treats as she wanted. One of the loveliest places I’ve been! We will be back for sure! Well done to all the team on getting it so right… 💙More

Exxellent food and service as usual however I don't like being called a guy. I understand in this politically correct world its hard to find the correct salutation and its fine once or twice within a conversation but not constantly or at the beginning and...end of a sentence. Despite my preference I would still return. 😊More

Had a meal last night with family who had travelled from the south of England . Food as always was excellent , the only let down was the service. We had to ask for more drinks, nobody came to se if we would like desserts,...so after about half an hour we asked if we could see the menu, nobody asked if we would like a coffee or tea to finish off the meal, when we asked for coffee and tea we were told the coffee machine had been turned off. It would have been nice if someone had come to ask us if anyone would like a coffee or tea before turning the machine off. It is a shame the service was such a let down last night with us having to ask for everything as the food was excellent as always. It has definitely made us think about going again for a while.More

Booked for a birthday meal arrived and was greeted by lady owner who was very unfriendly and stern. I have to say all the waiting staff were so nice, shame the owner doesn't seem to value customer service. Our food arrived and to say it was...disappointing is an understatement. Nothing special about any of the dishes. We had taken a Birthday cake which arrived accompanied by the very stern lady singing Happy Birthday through gritted teeth! Everything cleared away quickly and to be honest we were glad to get out! I wouldn't recommend Owen's if you want nice food good atmosphere and a happy smiling owner. Lots more restaurants in Rammsbottom try those instead.More

Myself and my sister called in for lunch. It was busy but we were given a table by a lovely young lady . We were sat near the bar and it was a brilliant atmosphere. We chose off the menu. Which was varied and had...some really delicious dishes. We decided upon the panfried mushrooms and they were absolutely delicious! We can't recommend this place enough. First class service and excellent food. We will certainly be back!More

Went for lunch and had the homemade cheese and onion pie which was delicious and the sirloin steak which was also very good. Excellent Covid safety measures in place and the staff were all great. We recommend this place to others and will definitely return.
