Sunday is not Sunday without a vist to the Sanstone, for the most amazing Roast dinner i have ever tasted..... The meat just melts in the mouth, beautiful buttered vegatables with incredible cauliflower cheese, enormous yorkshire puddings, that should not be allowed, crispy roasties and jugs of meaty unctuous gravy..... to be completely over the top, (well it is Sunday..)... Visited her recently with the family and was very surprised at the quality of the food. We had the steak and ale pie and a portion of fish and chips. All of the food was excellent. The chips have a very tasty flavouring to them. The fish was done in a light batter and went down a treat. Bit expensive... More

Lovely unpretentious family friendly pub. Super Sunday roast, good quality kids menu food too. All the staff were very welcoming. Would heartily recommend.

We came here for a meal at the beginning of September. We chose the sandstone based on the tripadvisor reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was great and the staff made us feel so welcome. Our waitress took the time to speak to our children and was a joy to be around. If you're in the area definitely check... More

First of all I would like to say that the food at The sandstone is faultless, hot and tasty! The table service is great and the waitresses extremely helpful. I have visited three or four times and have found no reason to complain. However on this occasion I visited with about 8 other girls. As usual we went up in... More

On our way back from holiday and called in for a late lunch. Lovely welcome and Daniel loved the toy box. Us adults thoroughly enjoyed the food and beer and a very reasonable bill at the end. We will be back as soon as we find a suitable excuse - hungry and thirsty should do it!

Exceptional food (extremely flavourful and you get a decent quantity) at very fair prices. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely eat here again, just a shame I live so far away and was only visiting.

Haven't been to this restaurant yet but have a table reserved for later this week... Found it odd that there is no sample menu to browse on their website or any other location on the Internet... Think the addition of this would be a marked improvement as people are always keen to have a look before they eat... Follow up... More
