We've eaten here a few times and has always been good. Lovely pub in a great location. Went there last night for my daughters birthday meal-it was the first time she'd been there. We ordered the chicken, duck and sausages. All very well cooked and very flavoursome. Learned that the chef was only 17-great future ahead of him! Friendly staff... More

Got there in plenty of time for Sunday lunch, but had run out of sparkling mineral water and because they had not planned for warm weather, basic Sunday lunch menu so if you wanted anything else apart from roast or fish and chips choice wasn't good.

Went for Friday Lunch. First visit. Warm and sunny day so setting was lovely on banks of River Stour. Service was good with friendly staff. Food quality was nothing special but the setting made up for it

Arrived in good time for our table at two o'clock, we had rung the night before and they had us booked in 1.30 for three guests, we were just two. We sat, we called the waiter to order and he told he us had to check if we could order food as the kitchen was busy!! He came back telling... More

This is my favourite pub to visit on a sunny day. On the bank of the river, you really couldn't ask for a better setting.food could do with being a little bit better, it's ok but very salty, don't let this stop you though, lovely place

We were recommended the Tickled Trout by a local and wasn't disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was superb. We were lucky to enjoy a sunny spring evening overlooking the river - it was lovely and would highly recommend.

Paid a visit at lunch time today with my other half sat outside as it was sunny and warm perfect for watching the world go by on the river bank. Ordering lunch couldn't have been easier and I highly recommend the cheese ploughman's and a pint of bitter shandy. We will both be back soon can't recommend the place enough.

I arranged to meet a friend/colleague here for lunch and as soon as I walked through the door, I was made to feel so welcome in this charming country pub, which has such a wonderful atmosphere. We dined in the conservatory overlooking the waterside, which must be a great attraction to sit outside on warner days. The food was good... More

On a whim we went to Wye for a drive out and a walk. We passed the Tickled Trout and decided to go in for a sandwich . There was nothing about a mature cheese and a ham sandwich which warranted almost £6.00 for each. No Chucky bread , no slab of cheese . A bit of salad on the... More

Description
For more than 400 years, an Inn or Tavern has stood on the banks of the river Stour where the Tickled Trout now stands.

The Tickled Trout is typical of the distinctive Kentish architecture of the period and greets the visitor with a welcoming and unique 'olde world' charm.

We strive to maintain this charm of oak beamed bars and open fires for our customers.
Our well maintained gardens alondside the river Stour, provide the ideal setting for 'Al fresco' drinks and dining, with a superb choice from selective menus for which we are renowned.
