We stopped in at La Botte on the last night of our stay in the magical medieval town of Badolato. We'd been rather overfed earlier by relatives in the next town, and were looking for a light and refreshing dinner. The owner was welcoming and very friendly, as well as very patient with our limited Italian, and recommended an antipasto... More

Our meal was selected from a small daily freshly prepared menu. The freshly made pasta with local mushrooms was delicate and tasty. The highlight was the grilled lamb chops and fresh beans. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Service was friendly and attentive. Well recommended

We ended up eating here twice. Once because it was recommended and the second time cause nothing else was open that day. But the food is great, so it is not a problem. In all our travels, those little places with small menus never seem to disappoint, and this is one of them. Primi.... Pasta with mushrooms in creme or... More

I went there out of season but even so the food was excellent and the staff were very nice. I really want to come back to this place.

I spent the summer in southern Italy and stumbled upon this restaurant without consulting the internet or a tour guide. This was by far the most natural "home cooked" meal I have ever eaten. Simple and rustic, simply delicious.

Great little place - it resembles a cavern and is painted such that you think that you are sitting inside a strawberry ice cream. There is no menu, just what mamma is cooking on the day. Usually a mixed antipasti, followed either by tomato or porcini mushroom pasta and then a meat secondi - lamb, sausage or stuffed aubergine. Washed... More

Ate here tonight during my first trip to Badolato. It's in an ancient wine cellar in this amazing medieval town. A trattoria, it serves a limited menu daily: antipasto, pasta, salad, main dish, dolce. Prosciutto, melon, marinated artichokes and mushrooms plus sourdough bread came first. Then a simple pasta with plump noodles and light tomato sauce. My salad was crisp... More
