Like every year, we return with pleasure to this restaurant located in the pedestrian street of Ronce. Impeccable service. And tastes... between knife tartare, Accra houses, pata negra and, the sea bass with dog sauce, the Charentaise steak and the famous Gillardeau oysters, it was the best! Visited with my wife and son today for lunch. The restaurant was not busy and we were quickly offered a table in the terrace.
I had moule charentaise which were dissapointing. I would argue that moule are a dish best served hot, but little ronce prefer to serve them cold and overcooked. I think they had probably been left on the pass while the rest of our order was prepared.
My son had the fish and chips though as a growing lad he would have preferred a larger portion of frites.
My wife had tuna tataki. A seared tuna oave rolled in sesame and served with a syrupy balsamic reduction which overpowered the slightly overcooked tuna (grey rather than pink in the middle).
If this had been more reasonably priced I could have forgiven the cooking errors but I think 62 euros for 3 mains 2 soft drinks and a glass of house white is a bit steep.
