First meal out after lockdown, just of the main road with seating outside. The service was very friendly and efficient, the food was really good my husband had fish and chips and I had the sardines which were excellent, followed by fresh fruit salad. Will definitely go again.

We really enjoyed the excellent food and warm welcome at this small restaurant in a pedestrian side street near the fishing port in La Cotinière. The menu is quite short ( always a good sign we think) and focused on fish. Delicious local oysters, the best grilled sardines I've ever had, and riz au lait (rice pudding) with caramelised pineapple. We could see other diners enjoying fish and chips - all the main courses looked wonderful. This is not a restaurant for vegetarians, though. Lovely service and you need to book, this place is deservedly popular.

I rarely leave comments but here I almost feel "obligated" as we were so charmed by the lunch service this afternoon.
Arriving in high season, at the start of the service with two young children without having booked, we expected to be "persona non grata" in this small establishment located in a dead end set back from the port of Cotiniere, but which seemed to decide with the rest of the establishments on the "seafront"..and ultimately, not at all. Quite the contrary. Everything was done to welcome us in the best way and to ensure that we had a delicious time.
The waiter (manager?) who took care of us from start to finish, was extraordinary and after detailing each line of the slate (he is passionate, knows his job...and it feels and makes pleasure..) increased the attention towards us (eg: homemade sauce for the children's menu to which he added a second scoop of ice cream of our choice for our 2nd aged 2 years old who dug into our dishes...! is rare enough to be highlighted...!).
In short, when it comes to cooking: it’s FLAWLESS! Everything is perfect....from the starter to the dessert including the wines which are delicious and go very well with the dishes served.

We discovered this restaurant by chance, strolling the streets of La Cotinière, and we were not disappointed. The whole family is on deck to offer us a short and tasty menu, made of fresh homemade products. The dishes are delicious and the atmosphere warm and friendly.
So we went back before the end of our holiday. An address to highly recommend, and where we will definitely return during our next stay in Oléron.

Perfect meal in a quiet setting. A minimalist menu (a fish, meat, fish and chips or grilled sardines) which generally puts me in confidence...well we were not disappointed: haddock with Asian flavors was to be dropped and what to say about fish and chips hake + ultra-crispy donut batter and home fries... Lots of people, tight tables, uncomfortable chairs (very low qd one is tall). 2 services so we feel we have to hurry. It is good but expensive ( 16 euros for 6 grilled sardines with a few potatoes, not even a leaf of salad) . Congratulations to the dynamic young waitress who ran everywhere.
