Melbourne is spoilt for restaurant choices; particularly Thai and other Asian cuisine. But Noi Thai is special, in my view. It successfully combines - lovely and authentic Thai tastes, - aesthetic presentation, - a BYO policy, - friendly service, and - a simple no-nonsense decor and provides you with an enjoyable evening at totally affordable prices. Just go. We loved... More

Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. Curry puffs were amazing, made with soft pastry that melts in your mouth. We tried a couple of stir-fry's, the chicken lightly fried in bread crumbs with a tasty satay sauce was perfect. Will definitely be back when we are in the area!

Have been to Thailand many times and this place is one of the closest I've found re food quality. The curries they just get and the flavour thats goes hand own hand is spot on. Must go the green!

Went for dinner with a vegetarian friend, I ordered a Chicken Green Curry with coconut rice. My friend had ordered vegetarian Pad Thai which was pretty impressive being enclosed in a net made of egg. Great food and great value

This is a regular favourite. It offers excellent flavoursome Thai food (better than I ate in Thailand last week) with the red duck curry an especial favourite but in truth everything here is excellent. It is BYO so take a bottle of wine along. Note that parking around here is difficult. We often park a few streets away and walk;... More

Went with a group of seven for a birthday celebration. We decided to have a banquet which was a great success. The food, service and ambience could not be faulted. Even though the restaurant was full, it was not too noisy which is most unusual theses days. Highly recommend.

A very Melbourne experience, small busy Thai restaurant serving fantastic food - with so many great restaurants to choose from the owner was very pleased to see us return with friends just a week after our previous visit. The staff are lovely and attentive, they look after the wine as if they had sold it and we're making huge profits... More

We visited Noi Thai with friends for dinner and could not recommend it highly enough. We are not from Melbourne and we cannot get Thai food anywhere near this good where we live. All the dishes were beautiful and they catered for everyone in our party who had allergies etc. highly recommend the Masaman beef, best we've had- though everything... More

We had such difficulty finding a car park. Drove around all the streets for nearly 30 minutes before entering the Coles car park across the street. $3 for the first hour then $8 after that. If you spend $30 or more at Coles you get 1.5 hours free. When we left there was a traffic grid lock as it was... More

Description
Welcome to the New Noi Thai in Fitzroy.
We are still under reconstruction at the new premises 205 Smith street Fitzroy.
We have moved to Fitzroy due to our old location for over 13 years is being redeveloped & we were basically evicted.
The new shop will be much the same as old Noi Thai , same head Chef CHINCHOTE LUENGAMONPHAISAN ( MANG ) heading the crew, so same flavours & friendly Thai service.
We hope to open in the near future & looking forward to seeing some old faces from Richmond & starting our new future in vibrant Fitzroy / Collingwood location.
thank you

Staying in Fitzroy

Neighbourhood Profile
Fitzroy
Fitzroy is an unusual blend of working class roots, hip gentrification, and a robust bohemian work ethic. Along Brunswick Street and its side streets, you'll find little independent shops where local clothes and furniture designers display their wares. There are specialist bookshops, funky record bars, and quality vintage clothing shops where browsing is the next best thing to buying. Gertrude Street is famous for its cuisine and art galleries, but if you want to buy an old-fashioned snooker table, there is a shop for that too. Small pubs still exist, tucked away on the corners of suburban side streets that serve up traditional Sunday roasts. Live music abounds, and the street performers play so hard you worry to tip them would ruin their concentration. Venture to the Spanish quarter on Johnston Street and you may even find street dancing. It is all happening amidst off-beat street murals and the shuffle of a very funky neighbourhood that embraces both old and new.
