I came here with my mum and dog Henry for the weekend. We could not have asked for a friendlier welcome, Henry was doted on from the minute he set paw in the building. Great food, accommodation and all of the staff are second to none. We're already planning our next visit, if only so Henry can have another try... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on TA. It really was lovely to meet you all and Cocoa will look forward to the attention even if she does stay a little aloof. Hope we get to meet Henry's brother next time too! More

One of my absolute favourite places to eat. A lovely pub, always offering good quality food and service. Also, love that there is a separate place to play pool, making it suitable for a nice meal with my husband or a drink with friends.

This Pub, caters for all. They didn't know us from Adam, but the welcome was warm, almost as if we were long lost friends. The surroundings convivial, we felt right at home. The victuals were excellent. Everything was clean and tidy, the operation slick, possibly one of the best hostelries we've been to in recent years. Well done to all.

We were booked in for an evening meal and the menu was quite reasonable but i did find it slightly expensive. I had a crumbed chicken escalope which in my opinion was expensive for what it was, for all I know it could have come from M&S. It was a shame that we had eaten tea and cakes a few... More

Thank you for your 4 star review of your evening meal with us. You'll be pleased to know that the chicken schnitzel is made by our chefs and not purchased from M & S! I'm sorry you were too full to enjoy dessert but hope you enjoyed the tea and cakes provided by Wendy at The Old School. More

Booked for Sunday lunchtime. The restaurant was very busy but we were shown to our table very quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was on the table which was very extensive for a Sunday as some places only serve a Sunday roast. This was not the case here. All 4 of us had different food which... More

The roast beef at The Red Lion is legendary. My husband and I travel over from Hertfordshire especially for the roast beef. The service is impeccable also. I highly recommend it.

Have had lunch here before and thought it was very good and our opinion has not changed. We visited on a very cold day and were shown to a table in a lovely cosy room with a roaring fire. We chose from the fixed price menu which offered a good selection at a reasonable price (£18 for 3 courses, we... More

Tuesday 31 January 17, My husband and I were on our way back home to Birmingham, so we decided to make a stop for dinner at ‘The Red Lion’ at Long Compton. Originally built as a coaching inn in 1748, the Grade II listed ‘Red Lion’ has seen many changes over the years, yet still retains the charm and character... More

Had a great Sunday lunch, roast beef fab with amazing homemade Yorkshire pudding, salmon dish also very good. Warm welcome and well looked after by staff, your four legged best friend also made to feel very welcome. Can't recommend strongly enough, excellent value for money.
