While this establishment doesn't really retain a traditional pub air, the good we had was very tasty. Personally, I would have preferred smaller portions at slightly cheaper prices - main courses were so large that 2 of us could easily have shared. They have an area at the front where you can take your dog.

The overall feeling of the place seems slightly uptight, nice food but I personally feel it's shadowed by the upright seating plan. Could do with a few more soft seats for people who just fancy a pint and a portion of chips. Saying that the sitting area outside is perfect for just that (as long as the English weather allows)

went for a meal with friends and ordered 6oz Rib Eye steak, £14. I asked for it to be well done - what came out looked like a piece of old shoe leather, it was burnt. I didn't complain as wanted a good evening with friends but wont be going back. Well done steak does not mean burnt. Shame as... More

Located approx midway between Honiton and Ilminster on the A303, ideally situated for travellers making their way to/from the South West from the smoke. Plenty of parking, and also a play area for the ankle biters if you need them to burn off any surplus energy! Bar/eating area is large and airy, looks like the old building has been knocked... More

There were some good looking dishes on the menu but we all opted for the carvery. Two courses for £12 and that was superb value for money. Three huge slices of meltingly tender and perfectly cooked beef were carved for each of us. Turkey and trimmings were also available. Excellent Yorkshire puds and ok roast pots. The honey glazed parsnips... More

We have always had a fantastic meal here, the staff are lovely and nothing ever too much trouble. Plenty of freshly cooked food, the carvery was delicious. We also had our works Xmas dinner here and again the food was faultless. Highly recommended.

Stop off here often on ones journeys to Cornwall. Cheery staff and piping hot food Good straightforward menu of favourites. Particularly like the Fish Pie - with nice little side salad Wood burner makes it cosy by the sofa area. Tables set out well so as not to crowd. Ample parking at front and side. Outside covered area for eating... More
